Knob Extension Kits for BX Stage



The LLBBXX--007722 and LLBBXX--007755 knob kit extends the lengthof the low coaxial control knobs on BX stage by oneinch. It also provides larger diameter control knobs forbetter ergonomic situations.

The LLBBXX--007722 kit includes two knobs that snap onto theexisting knobs of a BBXX stage and an extension knob forthe x-axis tension control on a rack stage.

Leeds offers polarizing accessories design for theOlympus BB--MMAAXX series of microscopes. Most are usedwith the BBXX 4400, which does not have an integral sliderslot in the nosepiece like the BBXX 5500.

The LLBBXX--110000 housing holds an analyzer/tintplate or ananalyzer, and installs between the observation tube andthe BBXX 4400 stand.

The LLBBXX--111100 analyzer/tintplate (also known as full waveplate) is for gout/pseudo gout analysis, or can be usedfor simple polarization. It offers 90o rotation with a leverand also fits in the slider slot of Olympus model UU--DD66RREE and UU--DD77RREE nosepieces.

Low Profile Mount for TiltingBinocular Head

The LLBBXX--330000 low profile mount enables full field viewing when stacked-up accessories are used on theBB--MMaaxx series of Olympus microscopes. It recovers20mm of the maximum 109mm allowable stack height.This allows for greater flexibility when adding adualview accessory, polarizing housing or other stack-up accessories - all without loss of viewing area. The lowprofile mount is ergonomically designed by keeping themicroscope height minimal.

The LLBBXX--330000 mount easily attaches to the binocular.This head replaces the mount housing on the OlympusUU--TTBBII inclinable binoc head. (On more recent tilt head mod-els, the cylindrical glass must be removed.)

The Leeds customization differs for the Olympus 33--UU113366 tilt head in the following ways:

Height Adjusting Adapter

The LLBBXX--UU--EEPPAA adapter is used when the operatorneeds the height of the eyepieces raised to acomfortable, relaxed sitting position. The adaptermounts between the microscope stand and observationhead and raises height by 30mm with a 1x magnification factor.

If needed, two or three adapters can be stacked to create a ergonomical sitting position. With theLLBBXX--335533 adapter a Olympus UU--DDOO can be stacked ontop of a UU--MMDDOO.

The LLBBXX--330011 looks like the LLBBXX--335533,, but with thisadapter the Olympus BB--MMaaxx components can bestacked on top of a BBHH22 or CCHH3300 stand.

Nosepiece AdapterThe Leeds nosepiece adapter allows for the use of asix-place or seven-place nosepiece on a BBXX4400 or BBXX4455microscope.

Combining the LLBBXX--DD66RREE nosepiece adapter with theOlympus UU--RR115566 (UU--DD66RREE)) six-place nosepiece, or the UU--RR117777 (UU--DD77RREE)) seven-place nosepiece, creates a replacement for the five-place nosepiece - which is thestandard nosepiece for the BBXX4400 and BBXX4455. BBXX4400frames need to be sent to Leeds Minneapolis office forthe U-R177 Nosepiece.

The LLBBXX--DD66RREE adapter replaces the dovetail mount ofthe UU--RR115566 and UU--RR117777 nosepieces. The adapter alsoprovides an integrated slot for slider accessories -which eliminates the need for a slider housing on theBBXX4400. The LLBBXX--DD66RREE adapter also adds a second slotfor slider accessories on the BBXX4455 stand.

The LLBBXX--66RREE and the UU--RR110066 should be used on theOlympus BX45 stand when only one slider is needed.

Hybrid Stand



Hybrid Stand The Leeds LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD hybrid stand has 18" of travel in theZ-axis, which is all done on ball bearing sleeves with counter balanced springs. This design allows for ease inmoving the microscope components out of the way forloading or unloading specimens, or just positioning for different height objects - such as whole animals or metallurgical samples. The LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD also has anadjustable stop for returning the microscope back to a predetermined position after loading a specimen.

The LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD stand is designed to be used withOlympus items: BBXXFFMM--FF focus module, BBXXFFMM--IILLHH mountand any of the BX2 reflected light brightfield/darkfield andfluorescence illuminators.

The LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD--RRSSMM mount is designed for using areflected light stage on the LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD stand.

The LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD--TTSSMM module is to be used with the BBXX22condensers and transmitted light stages on the LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD stand. This module is a Koehler transmittedlight illumination system that requires the use of a BBXX22lamphouse and an external power supply. It can also beused with a fiber optic light system.

The LBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD--SSZZXX mount allows for the use of the SSZZXXstereoscope and SSZZXX--FFOO//FFOOFF focus unit to be used withthe LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD stand.

The combination of the hybrid stand and the manyOlympus modular components make for a versatile microscope for viewing a variety of size of specimens.

The LLMMAA--005588 inclination jointenables the stereoscope to be held securely at anangle which can be moved by the operator to varioustilted positions and will stay in position until manuallymoved. High Clearance RinglightThe Leeds fiber optic ringlight maintains a full 4.2”working distance when mounted on an Olympus SSZZand SSZZ22 model stereoscopes. The narrow side profiledoesn’t interfere with hand or tool movement.

The Leeds ring light provides an even diffusion of lightwithout hot spots or holes. The fiber optic bundle,which is available in various lengths, exits upward tostay out of the field of motion.

Complete Boom Stereoscope Stand

To configure a stand that will meet your specific needs, pleasecheck our line of modular components described on page S-1.

The LLMMSS--110000 is used where wide horizontal and/or tallvertical viewing is needed. The LLMMSS--110000 is weighedand rigid with no need for a counter balance. The vertical column is 15 ¾” tall and is made of solid, nickel plated steel. When measured from the center ofcolumn to center of the field of view of an Olympus SSZZstereoscope, the horizontal arm has a 22 ¾” reach.The arm has a flat surface to prevent accidental rotation of the stereoscope body, and a drop prevention collar secures the vertical height of thestereoscope above the work surface - eliminating anyaccidents if you swing the horizontal arm to anotherposition. The arm is designed to hold a bonder stylefocus mount with a 5/8” diameter post mount. Thebase is 1” x 10” x 10” steel.

Transmitted Light Base for SZThe LLMMSS--222255RR self-contained tuck-under base for theOlympus SS--00112288 stereo stand clears up benchtop clutter and storage problems. It’s low-profile adds only1¾” to the height of the stand.

The base is a dual power supply for two light sources- 6-volt/20watt internal transmitted, and 6-volt/15-wattreflected illumination (designed for Olympus SS--00111155incident light illuminator). Both sources can be used atthe same time and have seperate level control switches.

The LLMMSS--222255RR uses a halogen light light source thatemploys a rheostat for intensity control of both transmitted and reflected light. The mirror unit can betilted to effect changes in lighting, which can fill thefield with light as low as a .9x zoom setting.

The LLMMSS--222266 unit fluorescent type light, mounted inthe base for transmitted illumination, it minimizesshadows (note that there is no mirror in this model).The base mounts under the SS--00112288 stand with twoscrews and can be easily installed with a 3mm ball hexwrench. A removable cover makes replacing the bulbeasy.

The LLMMSS--222255WW self-contained tuck-under base for theOlympus SS--0011228822 stereo stand clears up benchtop clutter and storage problems. Its low-profile adds only1 ¾” to the height of the stand.

The Leeds three-place nosepiece is designed for useon the SSZZXX99 and SSZZXX1122 stereo microscope. Thisnosepiece design allows for the mounting of three different objectives to the SSZZXX stereo body. Off Axis Light Attachment

The LLMMSS--SSZZXX--OOAAXX off axis light attachment isdesigned for use with the SSZZXX stereo microscope andprovides near vertical illumination for examining PCboards, cracks, crevices and holes. It works throughoutthe full zoom range and can be used at a working distance of 70 to 200mm. The compact illuminatorattaches to the objective body with two, 3mm driveset screws.

Boom Arm Stand with CrankAdjustment

The LLMMSS--220022--HHBBPP Crank Boom Stand pivots 360° and allows for smooth adjustment of both axes. The height of theboom adjusts with the crank at the side ofthe bottom block of the stand. The horizontal boom is on ball bearings andallows for smooth operation. Levers lockvertical, pivot and slider positions securely.

The LLMMSS--220022--HHBBPP is constructed of aluminum and stainless steel, and has anoverall height of 24” - with a verticalmotion of 19”. The horizontal boom is 24”long, and useable travel length is 18”. Thebase is constructed of 1”x10”x10” steel.

LED Transmitted Light Base

The LLMMSS--222255LLEEDDSSLL self-contained tuck-under base for theOlympus SS--0011228822 stereo stand that clears up benchtop clutter and storage problems.

The base has a dual power supply for two LED light sources;internal transmitted and reflected illumination (designed forLeeds’ LLMMSS--LLEEDDSS Spot illuminator). Both sources can be usedat the same time and have their own light level control switch-es.

The LLMMSS--222255LLEEDDSSLL uses a LED light with an adjustable inten-sity control for transmitted and reflected light, that fills thefield with light at a zoom setting as low as .8x.

The internal mirror can be rotated 360 degrees and has a slid-ing feature for an oblique lighting effect. The rotatable mirrorhas a mirrored surface on one side, and a grey metallic surfaceon the other side - which allows for a better diffused lightingon samples.

The base attaches under the SS--0011228822 stand with three screwsand can be easily installed with a #1 crosspoint screwdriver

The LLPPII--CCKKXX--TT9900 modification to the CCKKXX3311//4411 condenser pillar allows for a 90 degrees rotation to theleft. This makes it easier to place larger items, such asroller bottles or flasks on the stage.

The Leeds Rollscope microscope can be configured with a focusing optical tube or focusing arm. Thefocusing optical tube will hold an eyepiece and an objective of aspecified magnification, while the focusing arm - with the use ofvarious adapters - will hold a machine vision type lens system.

The RROOLLLLSSCCOOPPEE22SSDD Rollscopemicroscope is configured with afocusing arm mounted on a post,which has 1 1/8" of focus range andcan be mounted higher on the postfor taller objects. The lead screwdriven positioners have 1" travel inboth x-y axis. Included in theRROOLLLLSSCCOOPPEE22SSDD design is a focusing beam flashlight withmounting bracket.

MVX 10 Hybrid StandThe Leeds LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD hybrid stand has 18"of travel in theZ-axis, which is all done on ball bearing sleeves with -counter balanced springs. This design allows for ease in mov-ing the microscope components out of the way for loadingor unloading specimens, or just positioning for different height objects - such as whole animals or metallurgical samples. The LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD also has anadjustable stop for returning the microscope back to a predetermined position after loading a specimen.

The LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD stand is designed to be used with Olympusitems: BBXXFFMM--FF focus module, BBXXFFMM--IILLHH mount and any ofthe BX2 reflected light brightfield/darkfield and fluorescenceilluminators.

The LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD--RRSSMM mount is designed for using a reflect-ed light stage on the LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD stand.

The LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD--TTSSMM module is to be used with the BBXX22condensers and transmitted light stages on the LLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD stand. This module is a Koehler transmittedlight illumination system that requires the use of a BBXX22lamphouse and an external power supply. It can also be usedwith a fiber optic light system.

The LBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD--SSZZXX mount allows for the use of the SSZZXXstereoscope and SSZZXX--FFOO//FFOOFF focus unit to be used with theLLBBXX--HHYYBBRRIIDD stand.

The combination of the hybrid stand and the many Olympusmodular components make for a versatile microscope for viewing a variety of size of specimens.
