Constitution of a powergeneration company (SEREE)

ETAP and ENI International Bv have just signed a minutes of constitution of a renewable electricity generation company (SEREE) whose capital is held equally between ETAP and ENI Bv. The constitutive meeting was held on April 10, 2019 in the presence of Mrs. Mohamed Ali Khélil and Guiseppe Moscato, respectively CEO of ETAP and CEO of ENI Bv. ETAP has chosen to join its strategic partner ENI in order to diversify its sources of energy production and to be in tune with international operators. The project will be installed in the region of Tataouine and will spread over an area of 20 hectares. The operating life of this project is 20 years for a total investment of approximately 10 million US dollars. The construction contract will be signed in the coming days with a Tunisian company. The project will be piloted by a committee formed by a joint ETAP-ENI team .

Water treatment used on production and cultivation of micro-algae for the biodiesel production Oil activity generates considerable amounts of water. This groundwater is very saline and contain a high concentration of heavy metals that pose a danger for environment. The management of these waters is expensive and ETAP has long sought to find solutions for the rational management of these waters. A research contract between ETAP and TBC has been concluded to validate and implement a solution. The project has two objectives:- Research studies on the development of a process for the production water treatment from oil sites and the development of a method for recovering obtained by-products.- Research studies on the development of a microalgae cultivation process for the biodiesel production using water production from oil sites and from the available CO2 flow.

HSE Monitoring and Supervision of Drilling KB- 2During this project, the HSE team perform all preparation works to supervise the drilling of the KB # 2 exploration well on the North-Chotts license.

Treatment of drilling mudFollowing the abandonment of the KB#2 well, and in accordance with the environmental impact study, an action to treat the drilling muds and rehabilitate the site was initiated. Contaminated drilling muds have been stored in sealed sloughs to preserve environment.

As part of its corporate social responsibility, ETAP participated in actions for a total amount of 180,000 dinars.

An excursion was organized to Sousse on 21 and 22 March 2018 to Oueld Hamed school in Feriana, during which 189 schoolchildren benefited of cultural and educational programs. They were accompanied by their teachers and their director.

During this excursion the ETAP’s team, and in coordination with the General Management, a promise was kept for the students to organize a reception in honor of two best students from each class.

As part of strengthening cooperation, coordination and mutual assistance within the oil and gas sector in Tunisia and in terms of the protection of the marine environment from accidental hydrocarbon pollution, concerned compa-nies have expressed interest in implementing a Level 2 Marine Pollution Mutual Assistance Agreement (MoU).

The MoU is intended to enhance cooperation, coordination and information exchange on the control of oil spills in the marine environment.

For this purpose, ETAP as a partner in several concessions, and MOIG were the coordinators in order to lead this protocol. MOIG, appointed by ETAP as coordinator of this action, organized a workshop with representatives of the oil companies to prepare the draft mutual assistance agreement protocol.

Tataouine Gas Project

Memorandum of Understanding for Mutual Assistance in Marine Pollution « Level 2 Â»

As part of the monitoring of the Tataouine Gas project, the HSE department was involved since 2018 in the following actions:

- Revision of HSE documents (pipeline HSE, HSE philosophy of the GTP-T station)

- Supervision of the unloading of the two batches of pipes at the port of Gabes

- Regular visits for the follow-up of the HSE action plan

- Communication and coordination with the HSE Representative of the pipe laying contractor.

PETROLEUM DATABASE

E & P Data and Processes Standardization A project that aims to set standards for the Exploration and Production data throughout applying the appropriate naming conventions, units of measurement and reference data. Applying the adequate industry standards will not be only reserved to data, but also to the processes and workflows that govern how data flows in and out of the company. The standardization project will boost ETAP’s reputational credit and increase the trust in the quality of our data.

ETAP Laboratories provide analyses and studies for national and interna-tional companies and institutions in different fields such as: petroleum fluids, inorganic geochemistry and environment, organic geochemistry and petrography, sedimentology, petrophysics and biostratigraphy. Multi-disciplinary and highly qualified team supply new data and advanced interpretations.

In 2018, to enhance the laboratories technical capabilities, in order to better meet the clients demand, new equipments are acquired: Certified bottles for gas sampling, ion and gas chromatography systems, Scanning Electron Microscope with analyzer, microscope with transmitted and reflected light, Dean Stark Apparatus for rock saturation measurements and others.

Seismic Transcription and Scanning of Technical DocumentsA mega project that has started in Feb 2018, and consists of the scanning of the paper technical documents and the transcription of the seismic data into more recent formats. It is expected to enrich the digital database and provide the users with technical data in easily exploitable and accessible forms and formats. The conversion of paper documents into digital formats and making them available to the end users through a web-based interface would alleviate the efforts of the Database teams spent in data orders preparation.

The transcription of the seismic data into more recent forms and formats will let the users benefit from legacy data from seismic surveys, which in turn will bring an immeasurable value to the understanding of the subsurface.
