• MDMA affects neurons that use Serotonin to “talk” to other neurons. • MDMA connects to the serotonin transporter, which removes serotonin from the synapse when the signal between neurons needs to end. • MDMA also causes over release of serotonin and has similar effects on neurons containing dopamine & norepinephrine.
