2020 ELIA Membership Dues

Eagle Lake Garage Sale — Saturday, May 9, 2020 (CANCELED)

The ELIA Board of Directors has canceled the Garage Sale because of the CoronaVirus pandemic and the restrictions that have been placed on Kandiyohi County residents beginning in March. We are hopeful to reschedule the Garage Sale for a Saturday later in June, but, we will need to be aware and cognizant of the restrictions in place at that time. If the limitations of interaction between people are lifted, we will move forward with announcing a date.

Eagle Lake 4th of July Boat Parade — Saturday, July 4, 2020

Decorate your boats ands meet at the southeast access by 1:45 p.m. Parade starts at 2:00 p.m. and will go clock-wise around the lake. The ELIA Board will provide candy to boat participants to distribute during the parade. Prizes will be given to decorated boats for: Most Kid Friendly, Most Creative and Most Patriotic.

Eagle Lake Summer Picnic — Wednesday, August 12, 2020

All residents of Eagle Lake who have paid their annual membership dues are invited to our informal summer picnic. This year the picnic will be held at SunRay’s Coffee Pot Cafe at 4820 Highway 71 NE on the west of Eagle Lake. A complete meal will be served by the SunRay staff. Membership dues may be paid at the door. Prizes will be given.

In order to reduce incidents of flooding and sewer backups and in accordance with City of Willmar’s Municipal Code 16-91 let this be a reminder to homeowners who have a permit to discharge into the sanitary sewer during the months of November through March that you are required to route sump pumps outside before March 31st of each year. The City may at any time conduct a sump pump inspection at your home. For details on Municipal Codes and other City information you can view the website at www.ci.willmar.mn.us. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 235-4252.

Membership dues and resident support help the Eagle Lake Improvement Association work toward meeting its goals which are spelled out in our Mission Statement. Potential benefits of membership are as follows:

1. Get to know your neighbors on the lake.

2. Learn things we can do to protect and improve our properties now and for future generations.

3. Strength in numbers, what seems overwhelming or impossible as individuals is possible as a team. (Examples. Eagle Lake Bridge and walking path improvements)

4. Receive information from MN DNR, Watershed Districts and Kandiyohi County on Lake Management issues. (AIS, shoreline improvement, Water clarity issues, milfoil, swimmers itch and scavenger fish)

5. Resourceful education and cooperative management.

6. Your support will help provide positive recreational opportunities and enjoyment of lake activities now and in the future.

April 3 2020 — The northeast slough is now open and water is freely flowing into Eagle Lake over the dam. Lake ice is deteriorating rapidly with of above freezing nightly temperatures and recent rains. Ice out should be early this year.
