CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP FACILITIES TEAM During our long-range planning process, church members chose contemporary worship as one of the strategic initiatives we should focus on during the next few years. A committee is forming to evaluate facility needs of contemporary worship, as we have out grown our space at 11 o’clock services. This is a nationwide trend in growing churches for this style of worship. This committee will be addressing two of the four long-range initiatives: contemporary worship and facilities. Committee members include Thomas Clyde, Drew Greene, Diane Hawkins, David Nelson, Jill Ramey, Lianne Sanchez, Ron Schoenbrun, Mary Dale Thomas, Steve Wilson, Rev. Paul Bolding and Rev. Marty Dunbar. More information will be shared as this committee moves forward with selection of a chairperson and multiple research projects. WELCOME AJ AJ Roberts is our new associate student minister. He comes to Marvin by way of Richmond, Virginia. He has spent the last three years as student worship leader and also as the interim associate to students the past six months at Christ Church Richmond. His duties will be oversight in creative elements and worship. AJ is finishing his last semester at Virginia Commonwealth University where he is studying graphic design. He is very gifted in many areas including as a musician, worship leader, teacher and relating to students. You have already seen his work around and may have not known it. He created the youth materials for the past six months as well as the new contemporary worship bulletin. We are pleased to have his passion and talents on board. Please take time to welcome him to Marvin with great hospitality as he has made a huge leap and trust in the Lord to move to a place so far from home. A Marvin team walked and ran in the Susan G.
