Who are we?

.

Affiliated with the NGB, England Boxing, we have 15 qualified boxing coaches who deliver sessions from 5yrs through to adults in a safe and engaging environment. We have many competing boxers as well as TOT's, Juniors, Seniors and a school outreach programme. Our aim is to use the sport of boxing as a vehicle to increase particpation through sport to all ages and genders in and around the Eastbourne area.

Our successful Boxing TOTS sessions are coached by qualified England Boxing coaches many of whom are University undergraduates and qualified teachers. Each coach is fully DBS checked through 1st Ace Ltd. In addition, we follow the NGB child to coach ratios. (please see the link at the end of this document.)

The focus is to instruct non contact boxing through a games based approach with the goal to educate the children throughout the sessions and to add real value to their personal development. Social and behavioural values are reinforced with an emphasis on the many interpersonal skills it can nurture.

Using rewards such as medals and certificates, the children gain a real sense of worth through attainment and continued application.

Meeting your needs Eastbourne Boxing Club Recognises the proven and ongoing impact that engagement in sport from a young age can have on the development of children.

We are here to offer children the opportunities to engage in a sport which is inclusive, fun and which develops real social values and interpersonal skills.

Sessions can be tailor made to reflect syllabus areas or through 'bridging the gap' initiatives recently set spear-headed by the government.

Progression Pathways In addition, we run a succesful juniors session 3 days week from 6.30-7.30pm.

As the children progress ̀ through the sessions and become 10 yrs of age, they can move up to the junior classes.

These have more of a technical and tactical sport specific focus rather than the games based approach.

Juniors will eventually progress on to our Senior sessions once they turn 16 years. We feel it is very important to have a progressive route with clear goals for the children to maintain motivation to ultimately keep them active within physical exercise.
