for being fortified and producing sherry however it can also produce a lovely dry white. Interestingly, it is also one of the oldest white wine varietals growing in the Barossa Valley. Kaesler’s fruit, planted in 1961 makes an especially refreshing example with delicate stone fruits and a hint of lime, aided by a lean, dry texture keeping things quite fascinating. Not just a curio.

vineyards in Yecla in south eastern Spain. The Molino Loco wines take their name from the windmill (Molino) that sits on the edge of the family vineyards. This cool Monastrell (aka Mataro, aka Mourvedre) has bucket loads of character from black plum and cherries to savoury dryness.
