The next three months brings us three major holidays. First is Halloween which makes its
appearance in October each year. This is not a major Christian holiday, nor should it be, but I am
told that it is the second most lucrative economic holiday in the USA. It is only surpassed by
Christmas. This is simply amazing to me that we spend so much on ghost and goblins at this time
of year. The next is Thanksgiving when as a nation we celebrate our thanks to God. Then finally
comes most people’s favorite holiday, Christmas. I love the difference in the air during Christmas.
Do you realize that every day is a day of celebration for us as believers? Listen to what the Psalmist said in
Psalms 118:24 NKJV “This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
What makes each day a celebration? It becomes a time to celebrate when we realize that each day is a gift
from the Creator of the universe. It is a personal gift given to each of us as individuals. When we realize each
day as a gift from God, it makes it special.
Now let’s set the verse in its historic context. Psalms 118:22-23 NKJV “The stone which the builders re-
jected Has become the chief cornerstone. 23 This was the LORD's doing; It is marvelous in our eyes.” The
day spoken of here certainly can be each day in the life of a believer, but it is also talking about a specific day
when Jesus came to town in Jerusalem to be sacrificed for our sins. Another reason we can rejoice and celebrate
each day is that we have a Savior. We should thank God that He has given our hearts the revelation of the truth about Him and that He is the
Creator of each day. Most of the world does not know this and therefore does not celebrate each day the way we
can. So let’s go celebrate today and tomorrow and not wait for those holidays.
Every day is a holiday for believers!

EUBC CHILDREN”S CORNER
Dear EUBC Friends:
Welcome to our new children:
Kiley Renay Rader, daughter of Ashton Rader
& Crissi Hunt
June Cassidy Cossitt, daughter of Matt & Meredith
Cossitt
Ramsey Elizabeth Hopper, daughter of Murray & Sarah
Hopper
Leo Jack Springer, son of Kyle & Jennifer Springer
This month our theme is about friends. When we be-
gin a new school year, we meet many new friends. Our
preschoolers learn to love everyone because Christ first
loved us. They plan and learn together. The 4 & 5 year
olds spend time together learning about kindergarten
readiness. We are also enjoying the beautiful fall
weather and the children are excited about fall fun parties
and the annual “EUBC Fall Festival”. What a blessing it
is to love and teach children - God’s gift to us!
Theme: Friendship
Memory Verse: “Let the little children come to me”.

AWANA
5:00 pm!!! Awana is still alive and well at EUBC!
Doris and I have heard many good things about
the AWANA mission trip to the Dutch Garden
Center. Thank you all for going. This is God’s word
in action. Look for more mission projects to come.
Here is our verse for October, “Do not merely
listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do
what it says.” James 1:22.
Work on your verses, but more importantly, let’s
live ’em!!
See you at AWANA!
Love you all,
Jimmy & Doris
Note: We will elect messengers to the 2013 Annual Madison
Chester Associational Meeting. We will do this on Wednes-
day, Oct. 2. If you would be willing to serve as a messenger,
please let either Bro. Edgar or the office know.
News update from Michael:
October is a month that builds toward Halloween. At
EUBC that means our Fall Festival. This is always a
wonderful time to show off our church and creativity.
We usually welcome over 200 families from the commu-
nity.
The theme this year for Trunk-or-Treat is Old Testa-
ment characters or Bible stories. Feel free to be as crea-
tive as you want within this broad category. As usual, we
will begin collecting candy ASAP! If you would like to
make a donation of candy, please see Michael or just
drop it by the office. Door prizes are welcome, too!
The children, AWANA, and WMU will be promoting
Operation Christmas Child during the month of October.
Collections will begin in November. We are shooting for
150 boxes or more this year, so the earlier, the better.
Please see Michael, or Linda Holloman or the church

Music Notes from Zack!
Hello Everyone:
As we barrel toward Christmas, we are work-
ing hard on our Christmas Cantata: “A Christmas
Offering”. As a choir, we are excited to present it
to our congregation and our audience of one, The
Lord. It is not too late to join us! We always go
back over songs we have already covered and
advance to new ones!
I am still looking for a female voice part. The
job is simple: read the text at the correct time in
the presentation! Please see me if you are inter-
ested.
I cannot stress enough how much I need peo-
ple at practice. It is hard to move on without
many people there. We look forward to the next
few months and can’t wait for you to hear it.
Remember to worship the Lord in all things,
not just singing. I end with this verse from
Psalms 86:9-10.
“All nations whom You have made shall come
and worship before You, O Lord, and shall glo-
rify Your name. For You are great and do won-
drous things; You alone are God.”
One day every knee will bow and every
tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!
What comfort we have in knowing this.
God bless. Zack

God created a beautiful world!
“And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind and the tree that yields fruit whose seed is in itself.... And God saw that it was good.”
Gen. 1:12 Do you take time to share with
your children during the changing of the seasons that God has created a world for us to enjoy?
Do you teach your children how to care for God’s creation?
Do you take time to gather leaves and talk about the colors and differences in the trees?
Take time this fall to enjoy your family and talk about God’s beautiful world.
Publishing deadlines: If you have information to put in the Vineyard (bulletin), the office must receive the in-formation by Wednesday afternoon. If you have informa-tion to put in the Grapevine, the office must receive the information on or before the 22th of the month.
