It is hard to believe the summer is half over – even our short Ohio summer. Auction deadlines have a way of speeding things up for us.After all, in a few short weeks, we will finish up the Labor Day Weekend catalog…and finalize plans for the remainder of the fall auction season.

But something other than our usual travel / catalog / marketing activities has kept us hopping this summer. As you sit down to readthis, thousands of people will be walking through our 2010 Parade ofHomes entry, designed and decorated in collaboration with local custom home builder, New England Homes. For the second year in a row, we are sharing our passion for beautiful things with hoards of attendees; hoping to inspire them to seek out unique antiques, original art and affordable collectibles. Last year’s project was a hugesuccess – voted the People’s Choice award winner for interior design.Decorated with today’s collector in mind, both homes have featuredan eclectic assortment of old and new – illustrating how easily antiquescan be integrated into everyday life (but we already knew that, right?!).

An anticipated shortage of collectors is on the minds of many in ourindustry these days; and we are not immune. But, our style has neverbeen to sit around and wait to see what happens. We’ve got lots ofinitiatives going – and, one by one, we’re bringing new collectors intothe fold. We welcome you to do the same.
