Zolotukhin Gubkin State University European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) is proud to present its Student Lecture Tour distinguished lecturer: Prof. Anatoly Zolotukhin, Deputy Rector on International Affairs, Gubkin University Moscow. This lecture gives an overview on primary non-renewable hydrocarbons resource base, including oil and gas resources (like shale oil and gas, extra heavy oil, bitumen, and gas hydrates), and their distribution among countries and regions. The lecture covers ongoing exploration of new frontier areas (deep ocean areas, arctic and subarctic regions), fundamental research ands cooperation between oil majors, service companies, and R&D institutions. A more detailed view is given to the Russian oil and gas industry, its present status, current and future challenges and opportunities. The final part of the presentation is on the international affairs, the involvement of the UN as a global institution in the international geopolitics. The two-hour lecture will be held in Russian.
