Ed G. Bishop Architect, PC (EGB) is an architecture firm specializing in renovation and new construction for national retail stores, restaurants, casinos and specialized clientele. We have worked with over eighty clients at over 1,600 locations throughout the US, Canada and Japan.

In all, EGB has consulted on projects in every state in the U.S. and Hawaii, every province of Canada, plus Japan and Italy. This has consisted of consulting for over 40 state / national / international retail clientele (five of which were in the retail top ten fortune 500).

We have attached some projects below that illustrate our expertise in thoughtful design.

Architectural Services and Projects

The services have ranged from being a consulting architect for national retail, restaurants, healthcare, multi-purpose facilities, drug treatment centers, schools, daycare centers, gymnasiums, casinos, event centers, food distribution centers, specialty projects, fire stations, safe areas, administration buildings, energy conservation and wind power projects.

Commercial and Retail Development

Aca Joe Completed seven new stores each month in locations throughout the US for a 2 year period.

The Gap/Banana Republic Consultant for the expansion of the Banana Republic and The Gap brands throughout the US.

EGB developed a form for proper evaluation for projects that included, historical, architectural, site, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing evaluations. This form was referred to as the “million dollar form” by the Executive Vice President of The Gap, due to the fact that this process saved them over a million dollars a year. This process became the standard for the retail industry and now is used throughout the Architectural world.

Atlanta Bread Company Designed the prototype restaurant. Provided architectural services for franchisees.

Cotton Ginny, Canada Consulted and provided architectural services to expand Cotton Ginny stores to every province of Canada.

Eddie Bauer Consulted and provided architectural services for 60 stores in 1 year.

Hollywood Video Consulted and provided architectural services and opened 32 stores throughout the US in two months.

S’barros Provided design services throughout the US and designed and built a complete restaurant in a warehouse and shipped it to Yokosuka Japan for assembly.

Nicole Miller Designed the national satellite store in Hollywood, California.

AT&T Wireless Designed the freestanding prototype national satellite store and provided architectural services throughout the U.S.

Verizon Wireless Consulted on their expansion after acquiring Bell Atlantic.

EGB consulted on projects at Rockefeller Center, the Chrysler Building, J.P. Morgan, numerous other buildings throughout New York City, Union Station in Washington, D.C. and the T.Roe Price building in Baltimore, Maryland.

Energy Conscious Design

EGB is conscious about how effective our designs work from an energy stand point. We have been designing energy efficient homes and businesses since we started. Our work includes:

30 custom design energy efficient homes which utilized earth shelter, thermal mass, and active and passive solar design.

A 60,000 s.f. Indian Health Services clinic which utilized high-efficiency wall design, low-e efficient glazing, and commissioned electrical and mechanical systems.

An 8,000 s.f. Administration building which strongly utilized natural light and low-e glazing as well as high-efficiency wall systems.

Key Personnel

Ed G. Bishop | Architect Ed is a licensed Architect and CEO of EGB Architects P.C. He has consulted for local, national and international clientele for over 37 years. In all, his career accounts for over 1600 projects.

Gail Whitten | Interior Designer Gail is an expert in facilities interior design, facilities programming and planning with 27 years of experience. She has worked on projects including higher education, community centers, casinos, and healthcare facilities.

Andrew Brister | Architect Andrew is a licensed architect with 10 years of visualization and architectural design. He has experience with casinos, travel plazas, higher education, and laboratory facilities.

Monty Vann | Owner, Grace Consulting Monty has 20 years of architectural site survey experience with all types of retail projects: shopping mall, street site, new life mall style, outlet mall and free standing. He has worked throughout the US, Canada, and Puerto-Rico. He coordinates and supervises the surveyors on the jobsite and is well known for his jobsite discretion, professionalism and confidentiality.

May Vann | Director of Administration, Grace Consulting May Vann specializes in marketing and administration. She has worked in retail, commercial and restaurant construction with architectural firms and contractors for 15 years

Grace Consulting Survey specializes in Architectural Survey Services. Grace utilizes high-accuracy laser measurement devices to generate “as-built” floor plans, sections, elevations and diagrams.

Grace has been providing AutoCAD production drawings for retailers, building owners, architects, and developers. Their experience has been in retail, healthcare, educational facilities and residential with over 4,000 surveys in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico totaling over 120,000,000 square feet.

Services and Products

Grace guarantees prompt surveyor deployment, tight project management and scaled accuracy and coverage to keep timelines short and budgets efficient. As your project is being processed, our coordination staff will verify the information, the center or location and schedule one of our knowledgeable surveyors to be on-site. Standard Services include:

Since 1996 Grace consulting has thrived on the quality and accuracy of our work. The team members come from different disciplines including architecture, interior design, engineering, business and technology and all as-built surveyors are educated in building construction as well as building structural systems.
