Weekly Directions Directions: Please complete the following must do activities each day. Students then have the option to choose any of the may do activities they are interested in! Click on the blue hyperlinks for resources.  ★ Students will be required to turn in the activities they complete that are written (any kind of paper

Focus: Graphing 1. Watch Video: Creating a Bar Graph  2. Watch BrainPop Jr. Bar Graph & Tally Marks - Take the Quiz (Easy, Hard or Both)!  3. Login to Reflex Math and get a GREEN light 

Create a Bar Graph on Paper Reporting Data of Favorite Pet: Dogs - 10; Cats - 6; Hamster - 3; Fish - 6  Remember to show your titles and scale on the side.   

Science  

 

1. Watch the video on BrainPopJr. BrainPop Jr: Plant Adaptations 

2. Go to Science Fusion Book and read -pp 171-179 - What are Structural Adaptations? (This is on the student Homepage) - see left 

 

Explore this science mystery:  Why Are Some Apples Red and Some Green? 

Writing  

Read Passage 1: Surviving Life in the Arctic In a Google Doc or on paper, write down any adaptations you learned the Snowy Owl has made to survive. Organizer if Needed 

Keep a journal of what you are doing while away from school. You may do this in google doc and share with your teacher! Add journal entries to the same doc with the date.

Day 7 - Tuesday, March 31st

Take information gathered from Passage 1 & 2 and write a rough draft (Google Doc or Paper) answering the question: It takes many adaptations to be able to survive living in this harsh environment. Write a multiparagraph essay describing these adaptations using evidence from the article.

Plots 3. Practice Measure Lengths to the 

nearest quarter inch 4. Practice Graph Data on Line Plots 

Find at least 10 items around your house (pencil, crayon, paperclip, etc.) and measure them to the nearest quarter of an inch. After collecting your data, create a line plot on paper, using the data. 

Science   

Go to Science Fusion Book and read -pp 187-195 - What are Behavioral Adaptations?

Finish your Snowy Owl Essay  Name your document: NAME - Snowy Owl Essay Share your finished essay with your teacher.
