EDITORS Editors A British indie/alternative rock band formed in 2004 previously known as Pilot and The Pride Brit Awards: Best British Rock Band influenced by Depeche Mode, REM and Joy Division Tom Smith April 29, 1981 English lead singer, lyricist, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist studied physics and music technology at Staffordshire University Chris Urbanowicz June 22, 1981 lead guitarist and synthesizer player studied music technology at Staffordshire University Edward Lay 20 February 1981 drummer and lyricist studied music technology at Staffordshire University Russell Leetch born on March 5, 1982 bass guitarist / backing vocals studied music technology at Staffordshire University Edward Lay The Back Room (2005) Bullets had previously been played by BBC Radio 1 disc jockey Zane Lowe, where it earned the honour of 'Single of the Week'. The release of "Munich" followed in April of that year and gave the band their first Top 25 hit. An End Has A Start (2007) It was released on 25 June 2007 and went straight to number 1 in the UK album charts, selling 59,405 copies in its first week. The videos of singles were directed by the band's bassist Russell Leetch. In This Light And On This Evening (2010) Alongside the album, the band released lead single "Papillon" and it led them to their first taste of number one success outside the UK, with the song hitting the top position in Belgium and being certified Gold in the process. Fourth Album (2012) On 26 November 2011, Smith announced on the band's website that they had started work on a new album, that it would again be produced by Flood. Glastonbury Festival Scandalous Eat Raw Meat = Blood Drool Lyrics The song writing starts with Smith on the piano or acoustic guitar where he records them and sends them to the other band members where the song is turned into a full 'Editors song'. Lead singer, Smith, has said that he purposely makes the lyrics ambiguous so people can draw their own conclusions.
