While his expertise and drive makes him strong on results, Jarrod is soft on people. Referred to by managers as 'a lovely person who gets along with everybody' who does 'an exceptional job' liaising with stakeholders, he has also been described as 'kind' by a peer in Information and Knowledge Management. Jarrod strives for harmony in the often controversial area of helping people improve their management of a company's information assets.

A How addressing the barriers to effective information management will maximise the success of your EDRM initiative
About the workshop:The most successful organisations are those that deliver the greatest value to their clients whilst expending the fewest of their valuable resources. Organisations have only four sets of resources, one of which is information. Information is a vital business asset without which no business process, no business activity and no business decision can be conducted or made; without information no organisation can function. Yet whilst data, records, documents, published content and knowledge are recognised as comprising a vital business resource, in most organisations the management of information assets is done badly and at material cost. The barriers to the effective management of an organisation’s information assets are significant and unstructured information is particularly vulnerable. This has serious implications for EDRM initiatives.
This workshop will draw on the findings of a research project that the University of South Australia and Experience Matters are conducting into “The Barriers to and Benefits of Effective Information Management”
of which unstructured information is a substantial consideration and component. The project is being run in Australia, South Africa and the United States. Gartner has described our work as “tremendous” and the project and its findings as “ground-breaking”. Mike Orzen,
This hands-on, interactive workshop will help attendees understand in the context of their own environments:• Whatinformationassetstheyhaveintheir organisations• Whythoseinformationassetsareimportant• HowtomaximisethesuccessoftheirEDRM initiative
Delegates will take away with them:• Howtopresenttotheirexecutivetheargumentof why managing information is vital to their organisation’s performance• Achecklistofthebarrierstoeffectiveinformation management.
