What is EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY?

Educational Technology (EdTech) Educational technology refers to the use of both physical

hardware and educational theoretics. It encompasses several domains, including learning theory, computer-based training, online learning, and, where mobile technologies are used, m-learnng.

The area of technology that deals with facilitating e-learning, which is the learning and improving performance by creating, using and managing appropriate technological processes and resources

Educational technology itself as an educational subject; such courses may be called “ Computer Studies" or “Information and communication Technology (ICT)".

Educational technology as technological tools and media that assist in the

communication of knowledge, and its development and exchange.

Technology:Boon or Bane?

Technologies are BANE when;

-much lower need a libraries to read books.

-students these days do not have much of a good vocabulary because they browse information in internet.

-It lacks essential ingredients like the motivation of human contact in classroom.

-Loss interpersonal skills.

- Probable lost of communication skills and interactive abilities between students and teacher.

- Explanation face to face is a very important aspect in student learning, so when this cannot be obtained the students tend to lose interest in learning appropriately.

Technologies are BOON when;

- We can use technology such as computers with all the learning and teaching research material stored and program installed on a projector.

-Technology is a tool, a way for fact-based learning and allows students to do a lot of the research using the internet and various tools.

-Technology can enhance traditional methods of learning .

-Increased access to knowledge.

-Technology can be used to enhance critical thinking and critical literacy skills, evaluating the legitimacy and accuracy of online content.

-Technology helps education in some ways as well such as multimedia presentations which makes the subject more interesting for people. It is easier for the teachers and students.

-Technology these days has advanced our lifestyle.

- Things have become so easy.

- Technology is being used everywhere and in everything.

- Help us finish loads of work with ease,.

Systematic approach to teaching

The systematic approach provides a method for the functional organization and development of instruction.

This method applies to preparation of materials for classroom use, as well as for print or non-print media.

Inputs in to the systematic approach include well defined objectives, analysis of the intended audience, special criteria desired by the costumer, analysis and use of existing resources, and a team of instructional system specialists, subject matter experts, writers, and visual specialists.

Outputs are functional relations trees, functional block diagrams, a teaching sequence chart , and frames(a combination of words and visuals on a specific topic from the teaching sequence chart).

The system approach views the entire educational program as a system of interrelated parts. It is an orchestrated in to the whole: the school, the teacher, the students, the objectives, the media, the materials, and assessment tools and procedures.

Role of Educational Technology in learning

-It's important for young people to understand the morals and ethics of using this online content as you would have seen in the news there are many instances of bullying online and I believe the key reason for this is the anonymity of the internet. So therefore I think that schools should teach about responsibility and accountability in the use of technology in the classroom and beyond.So another important point is the use of technology for collaboration among students and teachers. I believe that technology and social media in education allows people to share ideas.

-Digital media can be kind of medium at the push of a button which can give students a voice when they wouldn't otherwise have been heard, and at the same time as I mentioned before about critical thinking I feel that students also need to be told about how to deal with criticism, how to give criticism and how to deal with a host of other issues concerning self-esteem with online content.

Role of Technology in learning

- Technologies support study and learning for teachers and students. The teachers recognized that they had no causal evidence to demonstrate that the use of technology increased student learning, but more than one teacher commented on it.

- The used of technology for their own professional learning on content and pedagogy, one teacher reported advantages while others still found some face-to-face professional learning useful.

- Technologies support student learning, teachers faced certain difficulties, namely internet connectivity, time to learn, ease of use, and support..

What is cone of experiences??

Cone of experience- Learning happens through actual hands-

on experiences. This level explains and proves that educational technology is not limited to the modern gadgets and software that are commercially available nowadays.

- It provides more concrete experiences, even if not as concrete as direct experiences, that allows visualization that fosters better understanding of the concept.

- The concrete experiences is not even ideal because through providing abstract experiences to the learner, the more he/she will develop his/her higher order thinking skills which is important for more complex way of thinking and for dealing with more complex life situation.

- Through understanding each component of the cone of experience, it could be said that Educational Technology is not limited to the modern gadgets that we have right now but rather it is a broad concept that includes all the media that we can use to attain balance as we facilitate effective and meaningful learning.

- The level of study trips is followed by exhibits. It is a somewhat a combination of some of the first levels in the cone.

-- This experience allows student to see the meaning and relevance of things based on the different pictures and representations presented.

Learning through Educational Technology-II

- Students can connect to the real world.- An individual can do task easily in

terms of technologies that can be easy to them.

- Technology operations and concepts for all students makes more easy and for the better.

- It design the learning and the learning environment of a individual and experiences for all students who wants.

- Assessment for all teachers are more compatible

- Productivity are in Social, ethical, and human issues can handle well and organized.

Conceptual model of learning

I need to browse information about the CONCEPTUAL METHOD OF LEARNING!

- A conceptual model is a representation of a system, made of the composition of concepts which are used to help people know, understand, or simulate a subject the model represents.

- The term conceptual may used to refer to models which are formed after a conceptualization process.

- Conceptual models are often abstraction of things in the real world whether physical or social.

- The term conceptual model is normal. It could mean “a model of concept” or it could mean“a model that conceptual.” A distinction can be made between what models are and what models are models of.

-The value of a model is usually directly proportional to how well it corresponds to a past, present, future, actual or potential state of affairs.

A conceptual model, when implemented properly, should satisfy four fundamental objectives.

Enhance an individual’s understanding of the representative system.

Facilitate efficient conveyance of system details between stakeholders

Provide a point of reference for system designers to extract system specifications.

Document the system for future reference and provide a means for collaboration.

Four Conceptual Model of learning 1. meaningful learning 2. Discovery learning 3. generative learning 4. Constructivism

- Meaningful learningrefers to the concept that the learned knowledge (lets say the fact) is fully understood by the individual and that the individual knows how that specific facts ( stored in your brain that is). For understanding this concept, it is good to contrast meaningful learning with the much less desirable, rote learning.

Constructivism Learning It enhance students logical and conceptual growth. It argues that people produce knowledge and form meaning based upon their experiences.

Discovery Learning is a technique of inquiry based learning and it is considered constructivist based approach.

It is supported by the work of learning theorists and psychologist Pigets.

Generative Learning It involves the active the active integration of new ideas with the learner’s existing schemata. It is in order to learn with understanding.

The Student after Educational Technology II

- We are now aware to gibe importance technologies that we have. And it is help us to be a computer literate in order to gain more knowledge.

- As a future teacher it help us to handle to what we have now that we can be use to the future as our guide and can develop ourselves.
