EDWIN’S GALLERY presents USE YOUR ILLUSION, a group exhibition opening on the 29th of January, showcasing the works of 14 emerging artists from Indonesia. Curated by Zarani Risjad and features music by Aryo Adhianto.

USE YOUR ILLUSION invites 14 artists to explore the defined limits of illusion and reality, offer-ing a glimpse into the relevance of these beliefs today.

The spectacle of illusion has long been a popular source of entertainment: haunted houses, shadow puppets, and magicians were celebrated prior to the age of cinema and technology.

In today’s world of scientific discovery, new technologies have the ability to possess the power of magic. From 4D to virtual reality, tricking our minds into an alternate reality is easier and more convincing than ever. What does the spectacle of illusion mean in contemporary society? How does it aid our understanding of the world?
