1. Introduction

1.1. In order to enhance air traffic management efficiency, new Terminal Transition

Routes (TTR) will be established within the Hong Kong FIR to connect RNAV 2

route M503.

1.2. The level requirement for traffic arriving at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA)

will be streamlined. Accordingly, the TTR from DOTMI and ELATO will be adjusted.

1.3. The Flight Level Assignment Scheme of M503 will be included in a separate AIP SUP

and to be published in due course.

2. Details

2.1. With effect from 0000 UTC 7 January 2016:

(i) Two new TTR V13 and V591 will be established, and

(ii) The existing TTR V511 and V521 will be revised to V512 and V522

respectively.

3. Flight Planning

3.1. Traffic departing from HKIA for destinations Shanghai Pudong, Qingdao, Yantai or

Dalian shall route via V13 and file the following flight plan route within the Hong

Kong FIR in Item 15 of the standard ICAO Flight Plan:

3.2. Traffic departing from Macao transiting Hong Kong FIR for destinations Shanghai

Pudong, Qingdao, Yantai or Dalian shall route via V13 and file the following flight

plan route within the Hong Kong FIR in Item 15 of the standard ICAO Flight Plan:

3.3. Traffic departing from Shanghai Pudong, Qingdao, Yantai or Dalian with destination

HKIA shall route via M503. The following flight plan route within the Hong Kong

FIR shall be filed in Item 15 of the standard ICAO Flight Plan.

3.4. Traffic landing HKIA via DOTMI and ELATO shall route via V512 and V522

respectively. The following flight plan routes shall be filed in Item 15 of the standard

ICAO Flight Plan:

3.5. Arrivals operating on route specified in paragraph 3.3 and 3.4 will be instructed

individually by ATC to cross ENPET at F260 when holding is required.

5. Communication procedures

5.1. Aircraft entering Hong Kong FIR on M503 shall comply with the following

communication procedures:

6. PBN requirements

6.1. M503 is exclusive for RNAV 2 capable aircraft only.

6.2. Operators of aircraft capable of RNAV 2 operations shall include “R” in Item 10a and

“C1” or “C2” after “PBN/” in Item 18 of their ICAO flight plan.

6.3. Aircraft operating on M503 shall adhere to the relevant RNAV 2 operational

requirement as stipulated in the AIP China.

6.4. Aircraft operating at HKIA are required to fly RNP 1 SID/STAR procedures. For

details please refer to AIP SUP A04/15. For contingency procedures, please refer

Attachment B.

6.5. ATC shall be advised as soon as possible when the navigational capability of the

aircraft deteriorates below the requirement.

7. Contingency arrangements

7.1. Owing to the close proximity of V13 in the vicinity of LELIM to other regional

airways, pilots shall seek prior approval from ATC prior to any route deviation.

7.2. In the event that M503 is not available, e.g. due to severe weather condition or other

airspace restriction, affected flights should file flight plan route ATS route A470 in

accordance to AIP Hong Kong.

8. Cancellation

8.1. This AIP Supplement will be cancelled when the contents are incorporated into AIP.

Contingency SID/STAR procedures for aircraft with exemption from RNP 1 requirements The contingency procedures are only available for flights exempted from RNP 1 requirement as specified in AIP SUP A04/15 para. 2.5.1.

All contingency procedures are direct overlays of the tracks of the RNP 1 procedure with the same SID/STAR designator. Pilots conducting the contingency procedures shall refer to and observe all other instructions and requirements (i.e. level and speed restrictions, terrain clearance, etc.) specified in the corresponding RNP 1 procedure charts. ATC assistance may also be provided when necessary.

Hong Kong SID Contingency Procedures

LAKES 3A (RWY 07R)

Track 073°M to PORPA (ISR DME 7.0 NM, or crossing LKC DVOR RDL 111). At PORPA turn right to intercept TD DVOR RDL 296 to TD DVOR. From TD DVOR track direct to SHELY then LAKES.

After LAKES continue flight plan V1 / V13 route.

If TD DVOR is not available, at PORPA turn right to track 116°M, request radar vectors to SHELY then LAKES.

LAKES 3C (RWY 07L)

Track 073°M to SMT DVOR. Depart SMT DVOR on RDL 085 to ROVER (SMT DME 2.6 NM, or crossing LKC DVOR RDL 107). At ROVER turn right to intercept TD DVOR RDL 296 to TD DVOR. From TD DVOR track direct to SHELY then LAKES. After LAKES continue flight plan V1 / V13 route.

If TD DVOR is not available, at ROVER turn right to track 116°M, request radar vectors to SHELY then LAKES.

LAKES 2B (RWY 25L)

Track 253°M to PRAWN (IFL DME 7.0 NM, or crossing LKC DVOR RDL 214). At PRAWN turn left track 184°M to intercept NLG DVOR RDL 155 at RUMSY. From RUMSY turn left direct to TUNNA then turn left direct to TROUT then turn left direct to LAKES. After LAKES continue flight plan V1 / V13 route.

If NLG DVOR is not available, at PRAWN turn left to track 184°M, request radar vectors to TUNNA.

Track 253°M to ITFR DME 3.0 NM. At ITFR DME 3.0 NM track 242°M to PRAWN (ITFR DME 7.2 NM, or crossing LKC DVOR RDL 214). At PRAWN turn left track 184°M to intercept NLG DVOR RDL 155 at RUMSY. From RUMSY turn left direct to TUNNA then turn left direct to TROUT then turn left direct to LAKES. After LAKES continue flight plan V1 / V13 route.

If NLG DVOR is not available, at PRAWN turn left to track 184°M, request radar vectors to TUNNA.

LOGAN 3A (RWY 07R)

Track 073°M to PORPA (ISR DME 7.0 NM, or crossing LKC DVOR RDL 111). At PORPA turn right track direct to RAMEN then turn left to LAKES. From LAKES turn left direct to LOGAN.

After LOGAN continue flight plan V1 / V13 route.

LOGAN 3C (RWY 07L)
