Relief Activities at Dargai IDPs Camps, Malakand
BY
EHD Foundation (on 28 June 2009)
By the grace of Allah, EHD has already started relief activities in Dargai IDPs camps at
Malakand. As mentioned in my last email that Dargai IDPs had not been accessed by any
governmental or non-governmental organization yet due to prolonged curfew. The curfew
also resulted in shortage of food and non-food items in the area and at the moment, the IDPs
are in dire need of food and non-food items.
AlhamdAllah, EHD reacted immediately and have honor to be pioneer among NGOs that
started relief activities, distributing ration and carrying out free medical camps along with
provision of safe drinking water projects in curfew affected area.
Free Medical camp
On 28th
of June 2009, EHD organized a one day “Free Medical camp” in “PITAWO
(GulMaqam) IDPs camp”. Our medical team, which was consisted of qualified doctors,
examined more than 300 women and children and provide them proper treatment and
medicines. During the camp, various common health issues came in front of us which needs
our utmost attention such as:
Diarrhea
Scabies
Women UT problems
Malaria
Cough and fever
Heat stroke
In this camp there is great need of NIMKOL (ORS), medicines for Malaria, fever, scabies,
and UT problems.
Following are some of the pictures of the “Free medical camp” organized by EHD:

Drinking Water projects In Dargai Malakand
After the complete survey of Dargai IDPs Camps we have selected 20 sites for hand pumps in
the area. The work is in progress and InshaAllah in first phase we will complete 5 hand
pumps with in a week. Because of curfew we are facing some difficulties (local market is
closed completely + Labor problem)
