E&I Mission Statement
To provide value to our customers, employees, shareholders,
suppliers and our community by ensuring that our transactions and interactions are carried out in accordance with the highest
levels of ethics, respect and integrity.
A Little History
• ENI was founded in 1969 – when General Dynamics relocated and left Rochester
• In 1982 it was purchased by Emerson Electric• In 1989 it merged with Astec PLC• In 1999 it was re-purchased by Emerson • In 2002 it was sold to MKS Instruments
– Amplifier production ceased
• E&I was founded in 2003 – incorporated on 16th of March 2004
Why We Are Here
ENI, the former industry leader, ceased production of linear RF amplifiers.

Electromagnetic Compatibility Testing
• Models: 240L, 2100L, 550L, 5100L, 601L, 603L
• Radio frequency interference can generate undesirable responses to almost any type of electronic equipment.
• Radiated susceptibility is a term used to describe the undesired response of electronic equipment to an externally applied RF field.
Particle Accelerators
• The particle accelerator is a device used for accelerating charged particles such as protons, electrons or heavy ions to high velocities, using RF energy.
• Where do the E&I amplifiers enter this picture? The RF energy required to actuate the particles in the successive magnetic fields is derived from a series of high power RF amplifiers.
• The final stage of each amplifier is a high power vacuum tube unit.
• The drive amplifier for this final stage can be supplied by E&I.
Gold Atom being smashed
Plasma Source
• RF energy is used to ignite and maintain plasma.
• Plasmas are used in the etching and depositing of thin films on semiconductor or CD and DVDs.
• Applicable Models– A150 / A300– Some experimental work is done at
higher frequencies.
