This year’s event will take place Satur- day, Sept. 14, at Rossview High School in Clarksville. We are especially excited about this meeting, as we will also be celebrating our 75th year of service. As usual, doors will open at 8 a.m. for registration and a complimentary breakfast, followed by the business ses- sion at 10 a.m. We hope you will find time to enjoy enter- tainment provided by The Bluegrass Volunteers and Minnie Pearl imperson- ator Jane Morrison and browse through the selection of door prizes to be given away before the business session begins. Three seats on CEMC’s board of di- rectors are up for election this year, and you can learn more about the candidates on the following page. Because each of the incumbent directors is running unopposed this year, voting will take place by voice acclamation during the business session of the meet- ing. CEMC’s financial report and a summary of the coop- erative’s activities will also be given during the business session. Those who are unable to attend the meeting will still have an opportunity to win a $100 bill credit by attending early registration at one of the local district offices on Friday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. I do hope you will make plans to join us this year. Incumbents seek new terms on CEMC board

Three members of the Cumberland Electric Mem-bership Corporation board of directors are seek-ing re-election this year. All three are runningunopposed.

Each of the incumbent directors pictured was nominatedfor a new three-year term on the board by CEMC’sNominating Committee during its meeting July 9.The 2013 committee members are Joe Henryand Gaines Shearon of Cheatham County,Dale Binkley and Robert Lyle of Mont-gomery County, Donna Lancaster and MikeLuton of Stewart County and Edward (Ned)Douglass and Eddie Swan of Sumner County.

Wesley H. Aymett The nominee from Cheatham

County is Wesley H. Aymett ofAshland City. Aymett has repre-sented Cheatham County on theCEMC board since October2000 and currently serves asvice president. He is seeking hisfourth term as director. Aymett serves as agency

manager for the CheathamCounty Farm Bureau. He holds a bachelor’s degree in ani-mal science from Western Kentucky University as well asan associate degree in meteorological technology fromWKU. He has also served on the board of RobertsonCheatham Farmers Cooperative. Aymett and his wife, Jill, are the parents of two chil-

dren.

Dr. K. Jean BeauchampDr. K. Jean (Jeannie) Beauchamp is the nominee from

South Robertson County. Beauchamp was appointed tothe board in June 2012 follow-ing the retirement of Gene E.Cook and currently serves asassistant secretary-treasurer.She is seeking her first fullterm as director. Beauchamp is a board-certi-

fied pediatric dentist who prac-tices at Clarksville PediatricDentistry. She received her doc-torate from the University of

Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis. She was re-cently elected secretary of the Tennessee Dental Associa-tion and is involved in several other dental organizations.Beauchamp is also a director for Cumberland Bank andTrust and is active in numerous activities with her church,including a yearly mission trip to Haiti.

Beauchamp and her husband, Lee Scott, residein Coopertown.

C. David MorganThe nominee for South Montgomery

County is C. David Morgan. Morgan has rep-resented South Montgomery County on the

CEMC board since April 2004.He is seeking his fourth term asdirector. Morgan is president of Mor-

gan Contractors Inc., aClarksville contracting firm. Heattended Austin Peay State Uni-versity and is a member of theClarksville Area Chamber ofCommerce, Central CivitanClub and Salem UnitedMethodist Church.Morgan and his wife, Bar-

bara, reside in Cunningham. They are the parents of threesons and have two granddaughters.

Jerry T. Peacher of IndianMound retired May 13. Mr.Peacher represented NorthStewart County on CEMC’sboard of directors since1974.

Carrol O. Poole ofClarksville retired June 28.Mr. Poole representedNorth MontgomeryCounty on CEMC’s boardof directors since 1999.

Charles R. Hancock of Bum-pus Mills was appointed toserve the remainder of theterm vacated by Jerry T.Peacher. Mr. Hancock repre-sents North Stewart County.

Edward L. Oliver ofClarksville was appointed toserve the remainder of theterm vacated by Carrol O.Poole. Mr. Oliver representsNorth Montgomery County.

For the past six years, Cumberland Electric Mem-bership Corporation has sponsored a calendar artcontest, giving talented students from across ourservice area an opportunity to showcase their art-

work. The caliber of the entries amaze the judges eachyear, and this year was certainly no exception! CEMC will be offering two different 2014 wall calen-

dars: one representing the East Region and one represent-ing the West Region. Pocket calendars with four different

designs will be offered as well, allowing for more students’talents to be recognized and rewarded. Above is the overallwinning entry for each region, and below are the four win-ning entries for the pocket calendars. Your free copy of the 2014 CEMC calendar will be

available Nov. 1 at your local district office. We are proudto spotlight the talents of our youth and would like tothank everyone who contributed, especially the teacherswho encouraged participation.
