Introduction

This brief guide is to be used as an accompaniment to the User Guide sent to you by Cambridge Assessment and to supplement the ERM online training, which can be accessed via the Cambridge Assessment Support Portal at

www.rm.com/support/ca

The Guide has been designed to act as a quick reference document to assist you when using the ERM system and recording marks.

The Pathway through ERM

The ERM system is designed to be simple, easy to use, and as much as possible, reflect the marking process using MS2’s. Although there are a number of different screens within ERM, the main path through the system is very straightforward.

If you are marking a single component at script level, the path is as follows:

If you are marking a single component at item level, the path is as follows:

Note: The screen number illustrates which screen in this guide explains this part of ERM in more detail.

If you are marking for more than one component, you will see an additional screen before the Main Menu. This allows the component for which marks will be recorded, to be selected first. After this screen, the paths illustrated above are exactly the same.

ERM also has functions to assist you in managing the entry of marks, which are accessed through optional screens.

How to use this Guide The guide shows a number of the different screens that exist within the ERM system. Information is provided with each screen to help you understand how to use it. Each screen is illustrated in the following way.

Screens enclosed in a ‘dashed’ box are optional screens or functions that you will only see or use in certain circumstances.

Each screen in the Guide has been numbered to help you navigate through the system.
