Elite Player Programme (EPP)

Aims of the Ark Globe EPP

• To allow our best athletes the best chance of reaching their full potential as players and take the ‘next steps’ – represent county/academy trials.

• To improve players core skills and fitness levels.

• To educate players in how to fully prepare mentally and physically for sport at an Elite level.

Elite Player Programme (EPP)

3 Sports programme- Basketball - Athletics - Football - For boys and girls in

year 7 – 9

1 x EPP training sessions per week (COVID permitting)

Pastoral mentoring –monitoring of academic progress, attendance and behaviour.

The EPP is a system at Ark Globe designed to push our most talented sportsmen and women to the highest level possible combining intensive training and supporting their academic studies.

Expectations from students

- Students are allowed to wear EPP kit in lessons and extracurricular clubs

- Attend all EPP sessions. Registers will be taken. If you miss 3 training sessions with no explanation you will be removed from programme.

- If you are injured or ill you must still attend the training session.

- Exemplary behaviour. If you accumulate an excessive amount of C points you will be removed from the programme and return the kit that the school has paid for.

- Role models around school. Representing the PE department.

Training timetable

• Training will start on the week beginning 30 November 2020.

• The timetable will be published and students will be made aware of the training sessions they must attend.

Ordering Kit

• The school will purchase you a Nike training t-shirt. You will be required to let the PE department know what size you require.

What happens next..

• You need to attend an important meeting on Friday 27 November 2020 at 1:00pm in the sports hall.

• You need to return your player contract to Miss Blaney, signed by your parents and yourself by Thursday 3 December 2020.

• You need to order your kit by Wednesday 2 December 2020.
