The project involves:• Installing new wires on approxi-mately 41 miles of 138-kilovolt transmission line

• Replacing aging wooden structures with sturdier steel structures

• Work to rebuild the transmission line begins early 2020 and concludes Summer 2022

The planned upgrades to the 61-year-old transmission line increase electric reliability for customers and support economic growth in the area.

The transmission line rebuild project begins at the Shidler Substation located off of State Highway 18, southeast of Shidler and continues east approximately 35 miles to the Osage-Washington counties line north of Bartlesville. The line then travels south and parallels Sunset Boulevard in Bartlesville for a short distance to where it ends at the Eliza Creek Substation in west Bartlesville.

The company expects to complete most of the work in existing company-owned easements, although it might need to supplement some easements to bring them to current standards.
