EC trailed St. John Fisher by just eight points with 5:47 to play, but the Cardi-nals used a 7-0 run to put the game out of reach. Then, on Saturday, Elmira trailed Nazareth by three points with less than 10 seconds left in regulation, but a three-pointer from Justin Henderson ’16 sent the game into overtime. The Soaring Eagles and Golden Flyers played a total of three overtime periods, with Nazareth eventually escaping with a 95-93 victory after Henderson’s game-winning three-point attempt rattled in-and-out at the buzzer.

Most Points Since 2003: Saturday’s 93-point output was the first time in over a decade that the Purple and Gold reached 90 points in a game. The last time EC scored 90-plus in a game was on January 25, 2003 against Rochester Institute of Technology. Elmira won that game, 96-79, on their home floor.

Welcome to the Club: Neil Randolph ’15 became the lat-est Elmira College men’s basketball player to reach 1,000 career points on Friday against St. John Fisher College. He needed just three points to join the 1,000-point club enter-ing Friday night’s game and accomplished the feat with his first shot of the contest. Randolph is the 16th player in EC men’s basketball history to record 1,000 career points and the second in as many seasons.

Looking Ahead: EC has a short turnaround as they return to Speidel Gymnasium tomorrow, February 14th to take on Hartwick College. Tomorrow’s game is also Class of 2015 Recognition Day for the six seniors on this year’s team. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
