Overview

Dear prospect,

A common attribute of Executive MBA programs throughout the world is their unique design for the mid-career manager. Both the ASEBUSS and KSU programs are focused on assuring that such individuals are enabled to achieve their career goals, while recognizing the significant business experience and personal assets that they bring into the process. Curriculum is carefully designed to provide a balanced and integrated view of both the business knowledge and interpersonal skills needed by mid-career managers to excel in a multinational and technology-driven business environment.

The focal point of our long-standing Romanian-American alliance is the Joint International Project, involving both ASEBUSS and KSU Executive MBA students, as well as Romanian and American professors. Multi-national teams from each business school are formed to work together both in Romania and the U.S. During an eight-month project duration, students are exposed to contrasting business practices in the cross-cultural, multi-national world of commerce, and are exposed to state-of-the-art technology-based collaboration tools to conduct their work between on-site visits to their respective countries. The joint residency has proven to be a powerful learning experience unmatched by other Executive MBA programs.

We recognize the special assets students bring to our respective programs and have designed a value-based response to their desire to achieve long-term personal career goals. Thank you again for considering us as a partner on this journey.

There has never been a time when leadership and the ability to make world wise decisions, the proficient use of technology and international experi-ence were more critical to the success of professionals. We applaud your decisions to obtain an Executive MBA diploma, which will position you as a higher class leader in a dynamic global business environment.

Thank you for your interest in the Executive MBA program at ASEBUSS, offered in partnership with Kennesaw State University (KSU) in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A.

“The classes and the assign-ments were all great experi-ences. But there are especially two key things that I think are immensely important takeaways for ASEBUSS EMBA. The first is the concept of the Residence Weeks, intense periods of study outside Bucharest, where we learn and interact with the American professors and colleagues from the other cohort. The second is the importance of a wide, tight and high-quality network in all areas of business life – and I am convinced ASEBUSS has the best networking.”

Cosmin Bucur – VicepresidentCorporate Banking, ABN AMRO, EMBA 2005

„The ASEBUSS EMBA program has been a fantastic learning opportunity for me. I was able to couple my current expertise and leadership skills with a solid strategic, business and financial outlook. It was hard work, yet a very reward-ing experience at that stage in my life. The program gave me an outstanding big - picture view of what it takes to effectively manage and lead business today.”

Curriculum

The EMBA program starts in September with an Orientation Weekend in Bucharest that serves as a great introduction to your entire class, the curriculum and the collaborative, hands-on learning process you will rely on throughout the program.Twice per academic year, we organize the Residence Weeks, outside Bucharest. These are intense periods of study when courses are organized for both cohorts of students, in a special training location. Different teams of American faculty come and teach you and your colleagues.

Residence Weeks are integral to your Executive MBA experience. Throughout the program and in Residence Weeks, you and your colleagues work in cross-functional study groups applying your collective skills and resources to challenges drawn both from case studies and from your existing jobs. This places the coursework into the context of the participants’ careers – and makes the classroom a workshop for addressing real-time problems in your work environment setting.

You will also experience the dynamics of group communication and decision-making, factors that are increasingly critical in business. And in discovering ways to maximize your team’s strengths, you learn to develop your own skills as a leader.

“The international partnership with ASEBUSS was a tremendous eye-opening experience on the impact of our respective countries role in the new growing global economy. The ability to share thoughts,, politics and best business practice, via a collaborative project with an international counterpart, was invaluable to my overall learning experience.”

“The international component was a special experience even for the managers used to work with foreign partners, namely: the international project where the joint team of Romanian and American students work together during more than 8 months in the virtual space, through an extranet Microsoft - SharePoint and a sequential videocon-ferencing program. The project has a final stake that surely makes an impact even on the most “relaxed” student: the pre-graduation dissertation, held in United States, with all its related stress. This project meant for most of us, both Romanians and Americans, a completely different experience. And I am not referring as much to the project’s technical handling issues within the virtual environment, but especially to the individual contact in its most accurate and authentic terms. Our cooperation went through all related formalities and conveniences, reaching however, during the Residence week in the United States, an extraordinary spirit of friendship, very true and warm. Overall, we had our share of stress, anxiety, work, but also of fun and very pleasant memories, such as the visit to the CNN studios or the tour of Jack Daniel’s distillery in Tenessee.”

We are the only Executive MBA program in Romania to offer its participants the opportunity to collaborate directly with their American colleagues in the International Join Project. This cooperation starts with the Residence Week in September when US students travel to Romania, and lasts over 8 months, running in parallel with the second year disciplines. The International Project implies that mixed teams of Romanian and American students work together on a business project - International Project - through virtual meetings, videoconferencing and other technology (SharePoint from Microsoft), as well as face-to-face collaboration during the International Residence Week in Atlanta. The business projects are selected according to the common interests of both Romanian and American students and are completed during the International Residence Week when Romanian students travel to U.S to present their projects to ASEBUSS and KSU professors, together with their American colleagues. This international exposure offers students a unique opportunity to learn together how to negotiate, solve various issues and manage across cultural, linguistic and geographical boundaries while being exposed to the current best practices and concepts in international business.
