What you can expect

• Insight about (a lot of) machine elements– Springs, fasteners, power screws, belts, roller chains, wire

rope, (spur, bevel, helical, worm) gears, sealing technology, (electrical) motors, and everything connected together

• Discuss Issues: Design, Development, Implementation of Components and Systems in machinery design

• Thus, (hopefully) a lot examples• You will have chance to design on your own.

Most important: Enjoy what you do!

What you have to expect

Assignment• Type: group (5 students per group)

• How?– based on what problem description presented in

week 3, – and what you have learned in class,– propose solution in– calculation/drawing/description in form of a

(group) report.

What we expect

•If there is anything unclear? Ask!•If you haven’t understood something? Ask!•When?

– During class– During tutorial– Consultation– Email/Phone/etc

•If we ask you something? Answer!Monday, 6 June 2011

2EME2026Formula Appendix V3.7

What we expect

• … that you always bring your formula appendix to tutorial classes!

• Students without FA won’t be entertained, AKA the particular tutorial class is considered as “not attended”

• Hmm… but why??• Because your fitness in

using the FA is essential!
