    IntroductionWerecognizethatallemergencysituationscannotbeanticipated.Ifanemergencysituationarisesthatisnotcoveredinthisplan,theAirportManagerhastheauthoritytodirectsuchactionsasheorshemaydeemnecessary.

    Denition and Classication of Incidents and Accidents

    Aircra accident: Anyoccurrenceassociatedwiththeoperationofanaircrathattakesplacebetweenthetimeapersonboardstheaircrawiththeintentionofightandthetimesuchperson

    hasdisembarked,inwhichapersonsuersdeathorseriousinjuryasaresultoftheoccurrenceorinwhichtheaircrareceivessubstantialdamage.

    Aircra incident: Anyoccurrenceassociatedwiththeoperationofanaircrathatisnotconsideredanaircraaccident.

    Incident Classication System

    Level 1.Accidentmayhappen.Forexample,thereisalandinggearproblem,orasituationoremergencyexistsorisperceivedtoexistthatmayresultinanincidentoraccident.isincludessituationswhereitisnotknownifanincidentoraccidentemergencyhasactuallyoccurred.

    Level 2. Anaircraisknownorsuspectedtohaveanoperationaldefectthataectsnormalightoperationstotheextentthatthereisdangerofanaccident.

    Level 3. Anaircraaccidenthasoccurredonorinthevicinityoftheairport.

    NotifytheFAAOperationsCenterofconditionsatthesite,particularlyifsuchconditionscouldinterferewithightoperations.AirportstashouldissueapplicableNOTAMSandensureappropriateUnicomadvisoriesarecommunicated.NotethatallNOTAMSshouldspecifyiftheairportwillremainopenforemergencyaircra.

    Iftheaccidentinvolvespersonalinjury/death,thewreckageCANNOTBEMOVEDORDISTURBEDexceptforemergencyextricationsuntilauthorizedbytheFAADutyOcer(seeEmergencyNoticationList).

    Hazard 2: Natural Disasters

    lawenforcementpersonnel. Notifythepolicedepartmentbycalling911. NotifytheTSAat866-907-8391. Ifonanaircra,notifytheperson(s)orrmthatownstheaircra.

    eAirportManagerwillalso: Notifythetenantofthebuilding,ifany,anddirectallpersonstobeevacuatedtoaminimumof500feet
