    This Sunday, October 20 at 3:00 p.m. MBC will worship with First Rising Mt. ZionBaptist Church, 602 N Street NW, Washington, DC 20001 to celebrate their

    Annual Usher Day. Dr. Hamlin will bring the preached word; ushers, choir, officersand members are invited. Dinner will be served at the conclusion of their 11:00 a.m.service until around 2:45 p.m. The church bus is available on first come first servebasis at a cost of $5 per person.

    Macedonia is honored and proud to announce the ordination service forDr. Shakina Rawlings on Wednesday, October 23at 7:00pm. All are invited toattend this historical and blessed event.

    S.H.A.R.E. Distribution day is Saturday, October 26 in the Multipurpose Room

    from 6:30am-8:45am.

    Sunday, October 27 you will be able to receive your flu shot at Macedonia followingthe 10:45am service. You must be age 2 to 65 and have your current insurance cardor come prepared to pay a fee. Please register at the Information Center.

    COMMUNITY NEWS:We are excited about Congressman Moran's upcoming Annual Women's IssuesConference on Saturday, October 26, at George Washington Middle School,1005 Mt. Vernon Ave., Alexandria, VA. In order to not conflict with the AlexandriaBreast Cancer Walk, we have adjusted our schedule slightly. Registration and informa-

    tion tables will begin at 9:00am, our keynote speaker will begin at 10:00am, and theconference will conclude with a light lunch at 1:00pm. See the attached flyer for addi-tional information.

    Fall Heritage FestivalCome out on October 19, 1-5pm to celebrate our nation's heritage at the Walker Loghouse. The day is filled with family friendly interactive fun! Step back in time with oldtime games and crafts. Bring an old shirt or pants to make a scarecrow. Stop by toparticipate in heritage filled activities.     Family Skate NightsJoin the crowd at Thomas Jefferson Center every Saturday night from October19,2013 to March 29, 2014 (No skate on 11/30, 12/21 and 12/28). The evenings start

    with Family Skating from 6:30-9pm and close with Teen Nights from 9-10:45pm.There is also a live D.J., $1.00 (cash only) moon bounces and the snacks from the caf.

    Would you be interested in helping Arlington develop its tribute toDr. King?Arlington County is beginning planning for our MLK tribute. Arlington is proud thatwe have organized events to honor his legacy since his deathway before other com-munities and the national holiday.

    In the past we have tried to coordinate efforts to increase volunteerism and to remem-ber Dr. Kings legacy with a program that included music, spoken word, dance andspeakers. But there are so many ways to support Dr. Kings legacy and we are open tothem if it would help more people learn from this great leader.

    We are having our first organizational meeting next week. Interested? Can you share?

    Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute Committee MeetingHelp us honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by serving on the 2014 MLK Tributecommittee! The event will be held on Sunday, January 19 from 7-9pm at Washing-ton-Lee High School and will feature live music, dance, spoken word and more to cele-

    Free Trees at Annual Tree Distribution EventArlington County's Natural Resources Division is providing 700 native tree species forresidents. This opportunity helps expand Arlington's tree canopy while enhancing thelandscape of your house, school, church or other residential property. The trees will beavailable for pick up on Saturday, October 26 at the Arlington County nurseryfacility (located in South Arlington on South Four Mile Run, behind Barcroft Field#6), 8am-3pm.     Bible Study Scheduleat 7pm

    Each 1st Wednesdaywill be Corporate Prayer and Praise. Everyone is encouragedand invited to attend.

    Every2nd Wednesdayof the month will be Pastors Bible Study which is open toeveryone.Every3rd Wednesdayof the month will be Mens and Womens Bible Study.

    Each 4th Wednesdaywill be Young Adult Bible Study.

    The 5th Wednesdayof each month will be Leadership Night. All leaders of MBCwill meet with Pastor Hamlin.
