Host Families Needed! Each year we’re proud to work with the Jewish Agency for Israel and their Summer Shlichim Program to enthusiastically welcome shlichim (Israeli emissaries) to O-la-mi and our community. Over the course of the summer, our shlichim bring the culture and energy of Israel into our lives in fun and engaging ways, and these young adults can do the same in your home! Being a host family is an opportunity to broaden your family’s understanding of Israel and the world, and it is a wonderful and fulfilling experience for you and your children.

If you would like the opportunity to host one of these amazing young Israelis, please contact Emily Eisen at 203-487-0973 or [email protected].

Harrison Peck Assistant Director, O-la-mi

Senior Camp Coordinator: Tzofim, Na’arim, CIT’s

Hello, I’m Harrsion! I am approaching my 10th summer

at Jewish camps and love nothing more than working

with kids and getting on their level in a fun summer

environment. After all, I’m a big kid

at heart! My favorite part of O-la-mi

is song session and dancing after lunch,

as well as taking part in the

birkat hamazon, or the

blessing giving thanks after

a meal. One of the best parts

of being part of O-la-mi is reuniting

with old friends, and making new

ones that will last a lifetime!

Daniel Servelli Director, Aquatics

Hey, I’m Daniel, the Aquatics Director

at the JCC and O-la-mi! My favorite part

of O-la-mi is watching the kids grow

from a developmental standpoint

during instructional swim.

I have worked for several years

in aquatics, and a summer at

O-la-mi means a lot to me,

including making sure that

every child has a pleasant

and safe experience in

the pool.

Dinushka De Silva Director, Hand in HandHi! My name is Dinushka De Silva and I am the Hand in Hand Director and Inclusion Coordinator for the JCC of Stamford and O-la-mi. As a member of our summer staff, I help create appropriate accommodations for various childrens’ needs and provide behavioral support for staff. My favorite time at O-la-mi is JCC Maccabi Color War, where we are able to score points for our blue, green, red, or yellow teams. It allows children of all ages, backgrounds, needs and abilities to come together to learn how to be a part of a community while having fun, building positive peer relationships, and creating long-lasting happy memories.

Meet the O-la-mi Staff!

Or Berger Israeli Shaliach

Shalom! I am very excited to be working at O-la-mi

this summer, it will be fantastic! I have always

enjoyed summer, and spent the

past two summers at Camp Ramah.

My favorite times are when I really

connect with the kids and my fellow

staff by getting to know them on

an individual level. The most

important part of summer

camp is the connections

we make as a community.

It’s a privilege to be

doing what I love best!

Emily Eisen Director, O-la-mi

I am so excited for summer 2015 because

I know it is going to be a fun-filled, exciting,

meaningful summer. The most important

parts of summer are the friendships

that are made, the confidence that is

instilled, and the sense of belonging

to one of your favorite places on earth.

I hope that O-la-mi Summer 2015

makes a positive impact in each

child’s life and look forward

to the opportunities that we will provide here at

the JCC of Stamford!”

Mo Concepcion Director, Sports & Recreation

Hi, welcome to O-la-mi! This summer will be my 10th

summer working at a JCC summer program. My passion

is to help kids learn and achieve their athletic goals

and aspirations. Our Sports & Recreation staff

work hard to make every day special and fun!

I love seeing all of the kids participating in

activities, especially our JCC Maccabi Color

War! I enjoy inspiring kids at O-la-mi to build

self-confidence and live healthy lives through

physical activity.

Galit Roloff Director, K’tanimHi, I’m Galit! I love working with children throughout the year, especially with K’tanim at O-la-mi! My favorite part of O-la-mi is watching the children interact, laugh, and smile with each other and their counselors. I am fascinated by how quickly the children grow and develop skills during the summer. Looking forward to this year at O-la-mi!

Brandon Yarborough Program Director, O-la-mi

Junior Camp Coordinator: Chavarim, Bonim

As I step into a new supervisory role, I am excited

to lead by example and help make the

culture of O-la-mi memorable and

great for both staff and children alike.

My favorite part about O-la-mi is

seeing the children grow and develop

year after year, as well as getting to

have fun as a major part of my job!

O-la-mi is an integral part to so

many lives in our community,

and I’m happy to be a part

of it again in 2015!
