YEAR END REMINDERS!

Fall Initialization Flag Updates• Set the flag on FS, FD or FN in 2011-2012 to

exclude student from Updates– Prevents your updates from being reset– Bulk Update process to update groups of students

• Fall Initialization will…– Default attendance pattern to N/A for KG students

going into 1st grade– Resets F/R Lunch status if Disadvantagement is

cleared– Preschool Poverty Level will default to “N” for KG

students

Withdraw Graduates!!!• Make sure to withdraw your graduates

with a withdrawal reason = 99.

– Failure to do so will keep graduates from being reported in period G

– Use Power Withdrawal at the appropriate time in the Checklist

Other Entity Attendance• For students where combined attendance

must be reported– Enter other entity school year attendance

on FS attendance tab– Transfer will combine the totals from year

end attendance fields with Other Entity Attendance fields in the transfer file record

All Special Ed Events Entered

• Make sure all special ed events that take place on or before 5/31/11 are entered in DASL.

• If students are missing events, they will appear on your 12K DISAB_NOT_FUNDED report & you will lose special ed weighted funding for them.

• ESC’s no longer report Special Ed Records for Preschool Students. Resident district is responsible!

Check for errors on Mapped Records

• Mapping records depend on CTRMEMIS being processed in Update mode for period N.

Continuing Special Ed StudentsIf all the following are true, use ‘23’ as the

EMIS grade Next Year and do not report a graduation date:

– Student has a disability condition– Student Completes educational requirements– Student elects to remain in the district for further

training– Student is under age 22– Student has not graduated

Summer OGT Results• Summer OGT results for students who pass the

test and graduate over the summer are reported in period G.

• If you have no students graduating over the summer as a result of passing summer OGT, your period G OGT Transfer file will be empty

• Summer OGT results for non-graduates are reported in period N in the upcoming school year

MAJOREMIS• When running MAJOREMIS, make sure

to create an ad-hoc membership group for your Alternate Assessment Students. A different date range is used to calculate their Majority of Attendance.

Update December 1 IEP Outcome Field

The Updated December 1 IEP Outcome field on the FN attributes tab will be reset with student promotion but will not be synced during Fall Initialization.

This allows districts to update the field when entering their Spring IEP events that may have a different outcome value in the 11/12 school year.

DASL & EMIS-R

• DSST continues to test the DASL Agent for all EMIS reporting periods

• New option will be added to DASL EMIS Transfer to load files directly into data collector

DASL & EMIS-R

• Data between DASL Agent and Flat File being compared to ensure Agent works like DASL Update Processes

• Most likely will use Flat Files from DASL in period K and SIF for Year End 2012
