and onsite management services for recycling,

composting and landfill waste

WWT employees and their families volunteered

to work in the waste stations

WWT partnered with Adonis Recycling to collect waste electronics and Christmas lights from employees

Adonis Recycling supports recycling fundraisers offering the proceeds to charitable and disaster relief organizations

To date, this effort has resulted in the donation of $10,000 to the Make A Wish Foundation and $10,000 to JDRF

helped the St. Louis Cardinals

with recycling and

composting

Open Space Council Operation Clean Stream The Open Space Council -- conserving, protecting and sustaining

land and water resources throughout the area

In 2016, volunteers

cleaned up nearly 500 miles of Meramec waterway

removed1,904 tires

12,518 lbs of metal and 355 cubic yards of trash from the river and surrounding areas

Operation Clean Stream will take place at various locations throughout the Meramec Watershed on:

Paddlers Needed this year – Operation Clean Stream is in need of volunteers who can bring their own canoes/kayaks/or boats for retrieving items in the river that would otherwise be inaccessible

River Des Peres Watershed Coalition

The River des Peres Watershed Coalition -D restore and maintain area surrounding the River des Peres area

WWT employees joined in their annual trash bash -- 5 tons of trash removed during the 2016 event

WWT employees forming a team to join in the Honeysuckle Sweep for Healthy Habitat along River Des Peres

Earth Day Native Seed Packet Distribution

Native plants are important because they:

Require less maintenance and minimal watering

Need no chemical fertilizers or pesticides

Tolerate a wide range of light and moisture conditions

Grow into dense groupings which eliminates weeds

Provide food and shelter for insects, birds, amphibians, and mammals throughout the growing season

Attract colorful birds, butterflies and other pollinators

Urban Harvest Food Roof Farm Urban agricultural living lab with

edible greenroof, hydroponics, living wall, greenhouse, pollinator garden & chickens

Collaborating with the community to grow a better & healthier city

Tours offered to businesses, schools – open area available for meetings – yoga classes

3514 lbs. of food harvested from the roof in 2016

In 2017, WWT employees harvested food from the roof and delivered it to the St. Patrick Center for their use

Shoeman Water Projects Collect Shoes . . .

Provide Clean Water . . .

Change the World

• Shoeman Water Projects works to provide communities in need across

the globe with clean water and to provide education about water,

sanitation, health & hygiene

• Every 8000 lbs of shoes collected provides one well rehabilitation

• In 2016 WWT employees collected and donated 269 lbs of shoes

Bike Build and Donation

During WWT’s June 2017 Leadership Conference, WWT engaged employees in a bike building competition

Employees built and donated 100 bikes to local charities

Big Brothers, Big Sisters, the Little Bit Foundation, Great Circle and others

Everything employees needed to complete each bike build was in the box.

All bikes passed a mechanical inspection prior to donation

Planned Initiative

Clearing and Maintenance of Greenwood Cemetery

The ground’s of this cemetery have been in desperate need of care and rely almost entirely on volunteer work

Greenwood Cemetery is on the National Registry of Historic Places and the St. Louis County of Historic Places.

No endowment established to sustain the cemetery, nor is there financial assistance available from any government agency.

This 32 acre cemetery is the resting place of Harriet Scott, wife of Dred Scott and their daughters as well as

Civic leader Charlton Tandy, educator Arsania Williams, musician Grant Green, author and activist Lucy Delaney

Buffalo soldiers and veterans dating back to the Civil War are among 50,000 buried at Greenwood
