    Welcome

    Welcome to the Health Service Executive (HSE). You join us at a very exciting andchallenging time. The organisation is changing rapidly with the emphasis on aclient/patient centered approach. This will require a strong focus on team work and,particularly, interdisciplinary working.

    This is our first Employee Handbook and we hope to add and expand on it over thecoming years to reflect new legislation and agreements. The Internet site is currentlybeing developed and we will be posting our policies and procedures there. Updates andamendments will also be posted on our Intranet site and your Manager will be informed.

    The purpose of this Handbook is to outline for you the structures of the HSE, to guide youon our employment policies, learning and development opportunities and to help youunderstand what we expect from you and what you can expect from the HSE.

    Please take time to read this Handbook. Any questions you have can be directed to yourLine Manager in the first instance.

    As an Employee of the HSE you will be an important member of your team contributing to

    our goal the provision of a world class health system.
