Every City and Community is Part of a National Data Network
Open Data is a Renewable
National Resource. “

CitySDK: Government-wide Platform that fosters interaction among data
consumers and producers
Incorporate Open Data from Federal Agencies Supports datasets from the US Census Bureau, USDA, HUD, FEMA, and Department
of Energy Additional federal partners are invited to create their own CitySDK module by
following the step-by-step guide.
Connect to Local Open Data Portals Commonly used data portals such as CKAN, Socrata, and ESRI ArcGIS are accessible
through the CitySDK. For example, the ArcGIS Module for CitySDK allows connectivity to 30K+ local
datasets.
Community Engagement Cities can use the CitySDK to host thematic developer events. An event playbook
created with Waffle.io and Code for America shows how to use an Agile design sprint approach.
A recent example was an event called “Hack the Last Mile” led by the Department of Energy, Deloitte, and Uber which featured the CitySDK.
Run CitySDK on IBM Bluemix CitySDK front-end apps can currently be built to run on the IBM Bluemix platform. Research is underway to run CitySDK as a back-end service and connect to Watson.
