/My qualifications to serve as your councilman include these experiences: growing up andattending school here in the 60's and 70's, service in the Army National Guard in the 80's and90's, raising my kids here--all three graduated from San Dieguito Academy in the OO's, and adedication to keeping the small town atmosphere--which we alliove--as a key ingredient in thedecisions I make when conducting the city's business during the 10's.

To do that I will pursue policies that wil keep the beaches clean and accessible; parks greenand full of activity; make use of ball fields all overtown to play games n; keep our open spaceopen; provide appropriate support for businsses; ensure that there are public places forartists to perform and display their art; maintain and improve our roads for more efficient carand bike travel; work with Caltrans so that improvements to 1-5 won't destroy our quality of life.

Our city needs to control its expenses and pensions. I wil vote on your behalf to make thishappen.

My campaign's theme is summarized in these seven words: Trust, Tranquilty, Tradition, Traffc,Trains, Trees and Transparency.

Encinitas must protect and promote the hi:h quality ofUfe we have come to

expect. Unfortunately, our City Council has 1 i frequently been distracted by pett

personality conflcts and politics, rather than staying focused on City priorities.

i will bring a spirit of cooperation and focus to the City Council, while rememberingto listen to THE most importnt advsors__ You, the citizens.

As CFO for Doctorsor Physical Therapy, I know how to balance a budget whileproviding the highest quality service, and thats how i wil approach my duties asYOUR VOICE on the Encinitas City Council,

    Age: 57

Since you first elected me in 2006, I have worked da~ly todeserve your trust and to keep my promises to support opengovernmen t, communi ty-sensi ti ve development, environmentalstewardship, and fiscal responsibility.

It has not always been easy to be your voice at City Hall; butmy actions have demonstrated my strong belief in governmenttransparency and my determination to safeguard the public'sright to know.

My voting record clearly shows that I am an independent voice, Ilisten and I'm receptive to your concerns. I have beenprincipled and conservative in how our tax dollars are spent.

In these constantly challenging economic times, we must have acouncil that is focused on the priorities of Encinita~ residentsand not beholden to special and outside interests.

Together we can maintain our five unique communities, protectour fragile environment and keep Encinitas a wonderful and safeplace to live today and far irito the future. As a third-generation resident of Coastal North County I knowhow fortunate we are to live here. Community service is a familytradition that I am proud to continue.

I ask for your vote and your continued support.www.barthforencinitas.com

    Dan Dalager

    Mayor of Encintas

I was born and raised in Encinitas and want it to be the fiest City it can be.

I ran for offce in 2002 because a planned Tot-Lot at Moonlght Beach was stopped by theCounciL. Since my election, that playground/picnic area, and Cottonwood Creek Park are openand widely used by our citizens. Our new library, completed in 2008, is one of

    the most popular

    in the County.

We implemented zero-based budgeting and maintain resrves to ensure fiancial stabilty.

Public safety is my top priority. Encintas has one ofthe lowest crime rates in the County. We '

are one of the few cities that has not cut law enforcement. We completed a new fie station inLeucadia, and the new Cardiff station is slated for consruction.

We've maintained and improved infrastructure and city services, including repaving EncinitasBoulevard and San Elijo Avenue, intalling new curbs, gutters and sidewalks, completing Cardiffalley improvements, and adding 22 new parking spaces downtown. Construction wil soon beunderway on the long-anticipated Hall Park.

l' llcontinue to put fiscal responsibilty, public safety and basic services fist in preservg andenhancing our outstanding quality of lif~.
