It’s easy to sign up for Atlantic City Electric EnergyWise Rewards. Simply have your account numberready and either visit our website or call to speak toan Energy Wise Rewards customer representativetoday.

2. Energy Wise Rewards device installed

A few weeks after you enroll, we will install anAtlantic City Electric Energy Wise Rewards DCU nearyour outdoor central air conditioning unit. Installationis quick and easy, and you do not have to be home aslong as your air conditioning unit is easily and safelyaccessible.

3. Wireless signal sent

4. Demand for electricity is reduced

When demand for electricity peaks, we will send a wireless signal that “cycles” the compressors ofparticipants’ central air conditioning units and heatpumps. Typically these conservation periods amountto less than 1% of the year.

As participating central air conditioning units andheat pumps are cycling, the demand for energylessens. As a result, less electricity needs to begenerated, helping avert energy shortages andreducing carbon emissions.

5. Maintain your routine

A majority of participants in similar programs reportno noticeable difference in comfort at the cyclinglevel used by this program. During the course of aconservation period, the temperature in a typicalhome may rise 1-3 degrees.

6. Return to normal operation

Once the Atlantic City Electric Energy Wise Rewardsconservation period has ended, and the demand forelectricity has lessened, your equipment returns tostandard operation.
