Importance of Art in Healthcare
• “Arts in the healthcare experience has a positive impact on patient health outcomes…aiding in their physical, mental and emotional recovery, including relieving anxiety and decreasing the perception of pain.”

Creative Arts Program Vision
Create an environment that is warm, welcoming, engaging, and calming; communicates hope, healing and humor; and also allows for fear and sadness. Develop environments in a collaborative process with community partners, that support the theme of Exploration and the concept of What Makes Chicago Distinctive. Create this program through philanthropic and community support Set new design standards for healing environments in healthcare facilities around the world.
