The Trionic Walker ™ is a new and groundbreaking rollator for the active user. It offers increased access to any outdoor envi-ronment and enables the user to be physically active at a higher degree. The Walker outshines the competition in the city, on the hiking trail, the golf course, in the park and around the summer house.

Through its unique design it promotes activity and quality of life.

The Walker ™ is designed with a great focus on walking. A pat-ented climbing wheel, 3-wheel design and air-filled tires work in unison for a totally new walking experience. It climbs curbs and other obstacles with ease and turns cobbles, gravel, grass, snow and off-road trails into pure pleasure instead of a bumpy and unpleasant venture.

The Product

The height can of course be adjusted to suit users of different sizes. To make transport easy, Walker ™ can be folded together and also partly dismounted. A hub brake with motion and park-ing brake functions delivers increased safety and causes mini-mal tyre wear.

Walker ™ has an ergonomic grip bar that offers several grip posi-tions, and while seated it acts as a back support. When the seat is slid forward the Walker provides more walking space, and in combination with the shape of the grip bar the tendency to walk with a more upright posture increases.

Trionic Walker™ is tested and approved according to ISO 11199-2:2005.

Through its unique design the Trionic Walker offers superior access to the outdoor environments.

Trionic Walker has an oversized frame welded from 6000-T6 aluminium, which reduces the weight and at the same time offers greater rigidity. The 31 cm diameter wheels, with air-pressured tires, offer opti-mal driving qualities. Walker comes with the follow-ing equipment:

Wheel AdjusterThe climbing wheel is adjustable for dif-ferent conditions and terrain. For superior manoeuvrability and easy turning, with retained climbing capacity, the front wheel is raised with a simple adjustment handle. In its altered position, the terrain mode, the wheel has a suspension/climbing function with increased direction steadiness, perfect for the longer walk.

FoldingThrough a quick push of the button on the telescopic folding stay, you can fold Walker to pass narrow passages. To fully fold it for transport or storage, press the second button on the telescopic stay and fold the frame all the way.You can also push the gripbar to the bottom and detach the wheels by pressing the button on the wheel quick release axles.

Hub BrakeWalker is equipped with hub brakes work-ing the rear wheels. In addition to a motion brake, it also has a parking function, which is easily locked if you would like to sit down and rest for a while. The design of the brake protects it from gravel and water, and at the same time it does not cause any tire wear.

Trionic Walker

The moving link arm also provides a suspending function. On uneven ground it constantly suspends the ride. The suspension turns the outdoor walk into pure pleasure.

Terrain or city useThe wheel can be dually adjusted according to environment and terrain. For easy turning and manoeuvring use city-mode (Walker 2), where the front wheel is lifted, with retained climb-ing capacity. In terrain-mode (Walker 1) the wheel provides suspension, climbing capacity and increased direction stability, perfect for a hike or workout.

3-wheel designWalker’s 3-wheel design results in permanent ground contact, even on uneven surfaces. The “shopping cart-syndrome”, with rising and spinning wheels, is effectively avoided. The advan-tages are apparent on cobbles, gravel, grass, snow and in any outdoor environment.

To increase the access to urban and outdoor environments, TrionichasdevelopedtheTrionicClimbingWheel™.Thewheeltechnology provides several advantages; curb- and obstacle-climbing, suspension and a dual-mode handling control. In combination with a 3-wheel design and air-pressured tires excellent driving characteristics are achieved.

Climbing wheelTrionicWalkerisequippedwithTrionicClimbingwheel(patentpending) that greatly increases the ability to overcome differ-ent kinds of obstacles. By spreading the load over two wheels, slightly displaced lengthwise, the climbing sequence is divided into two steps. The climbing capacity is furthermore enhanced through an angled link arm that uses the pushing force pro-vided by the user. This gives the wheel a unique feature, the capacity to climb a 13 cm high curb. When climbing a 3,2 cm high obstacle, the amount of force needed is only 1/8 of the force that a single wheel of an equal diameter requires.

Ergonomical benefitsIndependent studyTech. L. Linda Rose et al. at the Swedish ergonomics firm ERAK has performed a scientific independent study, comparing Tri-onic Walker with the two leading outdoor rollators in Sweden. Several interesting results were obtained, e.g. measuring the force needed to pass different obstacles shown in the diagram on the previous page.

The force needed to pass a 3,2 cm high curbstone with a tradi-tionaloutdoorrollatorwasmeasuredtobe6–12timesgreaterin comparison with Trionic Walker. With a traditional rollator it is very difficult to overcome higher obstacles. Very often it has to be lifted, while the Trionic Walker ™ was found to climb the obstacle.

User testThe ergonomics firm ERAK has also performed a user test with ten participants. The test persons, all of them rollator users, testedTrionicWalkerforaperiodof3–5summerweeks.The

trialperiodwasfollowedbyinterviewsandEMGtests.In all of the outdoor environments tested, Trionic Walker ™ got higher ratings than the test subjects’ traditional rollator. Apart from this, several other functions were appreciated by the users, such as the design, the brake system and the zippered basket compartment. One of the comments by the participants was:

ConclusionThe main conclusion of the study is that Walker shows advan-tages in several aspects, when compared to a traditional rolla-tor, especially when used in the outdoors and when overcoming obstacles.

7 out of 9 test persons would rather use Trionic Walker than their current rollator.

Safety LightsTwo red LED-lights with fixed or pulsing light keep you safe when walking after dark. The lights are mounted at the ends of the gripbar. Batteries are included.

BasketThe roomy basket has a separate zip-pered compartment which is perfect for your valuables. It’s made from 600D polyester and fastened through three velcro sections. Hand washable in 30°C.
