Maria, do you know who has sold the most cars this month? I must speak to this person today.

Maria: The Finance Department told me that they’ll give me the full list of sales later this

morning. I think all the staff have sold a lot of cars. Mr Sanoki: Yes, we have done well. Please ask the successful salesperson to see me in my

office at 4 o’clock today. The prize this month is a television, and the Advertising Department want to take a photograph of the salesperson with the television.

Maria: That is a very good prize. Yes, I’ll write a memo and send it to this person when I

know who it is. Mr Sanoki: Thanks. Oh, here is the man who is going to repair my car. I must go, ‘bye. Maria: Goodbye, Mr Sanoki, I’ll see you later.

Clara: Good morning, this is Perfect Policies. My name is Clara. How can I help you? Mr Hollweger: Hello. I’m interested in taking out an insurance policy. Could I speak to someone

about this? Clara: Yes, of course. If you give me your details, I will ask one of our staff to contact you.

First of all, could you tell me your name, please? Mr Hollweger: It’s Ernest Hollweger, that’s H-O-L-L-W-E-G-E-R. Clara: Thanks, Mr Hollweger. Now, what kind of insurance are you looking for? We offer a

Mr Hollweger: I’m interested in life insurance. I’m getting married next month and I want to make sure my wife will be ok if anything happens to me.

Clara: That is very sensible. Yes, we do offer many different types of life insurance. I’ll ask one of our staff to call you to give you the details. What is your telephone number, Mr Hollweger?

Mr Hollweger: It’s 0549 92715. Clara: Thanks. Is that your home number? Mr Hollweger: It is, but I’m going out to work now for the day. Could someone ring me tomorrow,

please? Clara: Yes, of course. What would be the best time? Mr Hollweger: Oh, any time after lunch. I’ll be at home then. Clara: Right. Could I please ask how old you are, Mr Hollweger, and if you have a full-time

job? Mr Hollweger: Yes. I’m 29 years old and I am a full-time electrician. Clara: Thank you. I’ll ask someone to ring you tomorrow. Mr Hollweger: Thank you for your help, goodbye.
