ENGLISH SPEAKING/ SPANISH INITIATIVE

This project continues to train Hispanic preferred English pastors and leaders to develop community bridge events, summer missionaries, and resources to better connect with their community and share the gospel.

The Mary Hill Davis Offering provides help with travel for a pastor to attend ongoing training, books, resources for training, and ongoing media platforms for monthly meetings and trainings. Pray for this ministry, that many pastors can share their experiences raising an English preferred church.

COMMUNITY JUSTICE

The prison system impacts people from all aspects of life. Families, inmates, guards, and many others are affected. The desire for people impacted by the prison system, is to receive ministry physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

John’s story from the J.A.I.L. Ministries:John began getting into trouble immediately after grad-uating high school. Eventually John found himself in jail. While serving his time, John connected with JAIL Minis-tries and remained connected following his release. As a result of JAIL Ministries, John was able to receive help with basic necessities following his release from jail. He has transitioned into a thriving adult. JAIL was able to help him secure a driver’s license, food, clothes, and a job. John is now a husband and father. His wife recently graduated from college. John has a wonderful job. JAIL Ministries states, “It’s wonderful to see the Lord restore a person’s life. God is so good!”

Funds from the Mary Hill Davis Offering support mission outreach within the criminal justice system by meeting needs of offenders/families, ex-offenders, law enforce-ment, victims, and criminal justice professionals.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING

“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth. Whatever you did for one of the least

of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’”

Matthew 25:40.

Human Trafficking is one of the greatest forms of oppres-sion of our time. Human trafficking is modern-day slavery. It is the exploitation of men, women, and children for forced labor or sex by a third-party for profit or gain. Mer-riam-Webster Dictionary’s definition states that human trafficking is organized criminal activity in which human beings are treated as possessions to be controlled and ex-ploited (forced prostitution or involuntary labor).

Texas ranks first in the nation for active human trafficking cases according to The Human Trafficking Institute Report.

Victims of human trafficking require spiritual, physical, and emotional support and counseling. Equipping church-es to join the fight as prayer warriors can best be achieved by raising awareness.

BOUNCE MISSIONS HISPANIC/ BILINGUAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

In 2019, BOUNCE mobilized approximately 975 partici-pants and 58 families completing 115 construction proj-ects. BOUNCE participants also served three Dallas area church plants through their pilot, Church Planting Mis-sion. In 2020, the BOUNCE Church Planting Mission added Houston, Texas, and Seattle, Washington as church plant-ing destinations for students to be involved. The Student Disaster Recovery option expanded their ministry efforts to Ponce, Puerto Rico, as well. In 2021, they hope to mo-bilize more participants and serve more church plants. These students are mobilized for the purpose of restor-ing hope, rebuilding communities, and reflecting Christ in areas affected by disaster and in communities in need of community rehabilitation. Thanks to the partial scholar-ships provided through the Mary Hill Davis Offerings, stu-dents from the Faith Family Church were able to be mobi-lized for mission service at BOUNCE. TEXAS BAPTIST SMALL CHURCH IMPACT/ GRANTS (JOINT COLLABORATION BIVOCATIONAL

MINISTRY & CHURCH ARCHITECTURE)

Small Church Impact Grants help local churches by pro-viding resources for facilities improvement to better equip them to minister in their communities. With matching support, small churches have an incentive to raise funds that are amplified by the Mary Hill Davis Offering funds via the “matching” feature.

Small Church Ministry Grant Story. Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Mathis is a small church located in a rural com-munity in South Texas who used the grant to impact their community. Over 50% of the residents in their county are single mothers, many living below the poverty level. With the help of this grant, they offered a women’s conference that involved meeting physical and practical needs as well as offering spiritual renewal.

Consider how you can impact the mission. Remember the Great Commission, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

L E A D E R S H I P

CHURCH REPLANTS

Church replants are churches that are restarted to return to full expressions of the gospel and kingdom outposts in their communities. Many projects are made possible by your gifts to the Mary Hill Davis Offering for Texas Mis-sions. Volunteer leaders are being trained for their areas of ministry and new Bible studies are being put in place. Serving the needy through Thanksgiving basket giveaways, Christmas concerts, and parent’s night out are a few proj-ects of a church replant.

L E A D E R S H I P CHAPLAIN, PASTOR, AND STAFF TRAINING

Many chaplains, pastors, and staff members need addi-tional training on techniques and updated information to offer quality pastoral care to their churches and commu-nities. The Mary Hill Davis Offering helps in many of these areas but emphasis can be placed on five key projects. Just $150 in each area impacts many:★ Training for a young seminarian who is pursuing a

call to chaplain ministry.★ Help for a pastor to learn how to prevent suicide for

his/her community.★ Help to train a pastoral care provider how to show

God’s love to homeless veterans.★ Help for a young hospice chaplain to learn about

death and dying so he/she can share Christ with a grieving family.

★ Training for disaster care chaplains on how to respond to the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of victims of trauma.

AS YOU ARE PRAYING, pray for the chaplains, pastors, and staff members as

they receive leadership training in spiritual care, suicide intervention, victim assistance, and Hands on Ministry.

DEVOTED: A GATHERING OF YOUNG BELIEVERS IN URBAN AREAS.

The urban dictionary defines a gathering as a “get together” of two or more people instead of a party.

Devoted creates a space for millennials (1981-1996) and Gen Z (1995-2012), believers to connect, fellowship, and grow, where they learn about Texas Baptist life, and build long-lasting relationships. These groups work together to reach their communities for Christ. Churches identify young adults who are passionate about missions and ministry. These churches are a training ground and supplement fel-lowship among their current members. They will meet in venues, coffee shops, living rooms, and places where young adults normally do life. These common areas will be trans-formed into spaces of worship, where young adults can connect with others and be mobilized for missions.

El sistema penitenciario afecta a personas en todos los ámbitos de la vida. Las familias, los reclusos, los guardias y muchos otros se ven afectados. El deseo de las personas impactadas por el sistema carcelario es de recibir el minis-terio de una forma física, emocional, y espiritual.

La historia de John de los Ministerios J.A.I.L.

John comenzó a meterse en problemas justo después de graduarse de high school. Con el tiempo John terminó en la cárcel. Mientras cumplía su condena, John se relacionó con los Ministerios de la Cárcel y permaneció en contacto-después de su liberación. Como resultado de los Ministerios de la Cárcel, John logró recibir ayuda con las necesidades básicas después de su liberación de la cárcel. Él se ha con-vertido en un adulto próspero. El Ministerio de la Cárcel logró ayudarle a conseguir su licencia de conducir, comida, ropa y un empleo. John es ahora un esposo y padre de fa-milia. Su esposa recientemente se graduó de la Universidad. John tiene un empleo maravilloso. Los Ministerios de la Cár-cel mencionan, “Es maravilloso ver cómo el Señor restaura la vida de una persona. ¡Dios es tan bueno!”

TRÁFICO DE PERSONAS

“Y respondiendo el Rey, les dirá: ‘De cierto os digo que en cuanto lo hicisteis a uno de estos mis hermanos más

pequeños, a mí lo hicisteis’.” Mateo 25:40.

El tráfico de personas es una de las mayores formas de opresión de nuestro tiempo. El tráfico de personas es la es-clavitud moderna. Es la explotación de hombres, mujeres, y niños en trabajos forzados o sexo por un tercero con fines de lucro o ganancia. La definición del Diccionario Merri-am-Webster establece que el tráfico de personas es una actividad criminal organizada en la que los seres humanos son tratados como posesiones que deben ser controladas y explotadas (prostitución forzada o trabajo involuntario).

El estado de Texas ocupa el primer lugar en la nación en cuanto a casos activos de tráfico de personas según El In-forme del Instituto de Tráfico Humano.

Las víctimas de tráfico humano requieren apoyo y asesora-miento spiritual, físico, y emocional. Equipar a las iglesias para que se unan a la lucha como guerreros de oración puede mejor lograrse al generar conciencia.

Misiones Hispanas Bounce Becas Estudiantiles Bilingües

En el año 2019, BOUNCE mobilizó aproximadamente a 975 participantes y 58 familias terminando así 115 proyectos de construcción. Los participantes de BOUNCE también sirvieron a tres plantaciones de iglesia en el área de Dallas a través de su proyecto piloto la Misión de Plantación de Iglesias. En el 2020, la Misión de Plantación de Iglesias de BOUNCE añadió a Houston, Texas, y a Seattle, Washington como destinos de plantación de iglesias para que los es-tudiantes participaran. La opción de Recuperación de De-sastres Estudiantiles también amplió sus esfuerzos minis-teriales a Ponce, Puerto Rico también. En el 2021, esperan movilizar a más participantes y a servir a más plantaciones de iglesias. Estos estudiantes se movilizan con el propósito de restaurar la esperanza, reconstruir a las comunidades y reflejar a Cristo en las zonas afectadas por el desastre y en las comunidades que necesitan rehabilitación comunitar-ia. Gracias a las becas parciales provistas por medio de las Ofrendas Mary Hill Davis, los estudiantes de la Iglesia Faith Family lograron movilizarse para el servicio misionero en BOUNCE. El Impacto De Pequeñas Iglesias Bautistas De Texas/Becas (Colaboración Conjunta Del Ministerio

Bivocacional Y La Arquitectura De La Iglesia)

Las Becas de Impacto para Pequeñas Iglesias ayudan a las ig-lesias a proveer locales proporcionando recursos para la me-jora de las instalaciones con el propósito de para equiparlas mejor y para ministrar en sus comunidades. Con apoyo de fondos de contrapartida, las pequeñas iglesias tienen un in-centivo para recaudar fondos que se amplían con los fondos de la Ofrenda Mary Hill Davis a través de la función de los “fondos de contrapartida.”

La historia de la Beca para el Ministerio de las Iglesias Pequeñas. La Iglesia Bautista del Monte Pisgah en Mathis es una pequeña iglesia ubicada en una comunidad rural del sur de Texas que utilizó la beca para impactar a su co-munidad. Más del 50% de los residentes de su condado son madres solteras, muchas de ellas viven por debajo del nivel de pobreza. Con la ayuda de esta beca, ofrecieron una conferencia de mujeres que implicaba satisfacer las necesidades físicas y prácticas, así como ofrecer una ren-ovación espiritual.

Las replantaciones de iglesias son iglesias que se reinician para volver a las expresiones plenas del evangelio y los avances del reino en sus comunidades. Muchos proyectos son posibles gracias a sus donaciones a la Ofrenda Mary Hill Davis para las Misiones de Texas. Los líderes voluntar-ios están siendo entrenados para sus áreas de ministerio y nuevos estudios bíblicos se están llevando a cabo. Servir a los necesitados a través de canastas de regalo del Día de Acción de Gracias, conciertos Navideños, y noche noctur-na de los padres de familia son algunos de los proyectos de una replantación de iglesia.

Muchos capellanes, pastores, y miembros del personal necesi-tan capacitación adicional en técnicas e información actualiza-da para ofrecer una atención pastoral de calidad a sus iglesias y comunidades. La Ofrenda Mary Hill Davis ayuda en muchas de estas áreas, enfatizando en cinco proyectos clave. Con sólo $150 en cada área impacta a una variedad de:

Devotos: Una Reunión De Jóvenes Creyentes En Zonas Urbanas.

El diccionario urbano define una reunión como un “encuentro” de dos o más personas en lugar de un grupo

grande.

Devotos crea un espacio para que los creyentes milenials (1981-1996) y de la Generación Z (1995-2012), tengan conexión, compañerismo, y crezcan donde ellos aprenden sobre la vida de los Bautistas de Texas, y edifican rela-ciones duraderas. Estos grupos trabajan juntos para alca-nzar a sus comunidades para Cristo. Las iglesias identifican a los jóvenes adultos apasionados por las misiones y el ministerio. Estas iglesias son un campo de entrenamien-to y complementan el compañerismo entre sus miembros actuales. Se reunirán en locales, cafeterías, salas de casa y lugares donde los jóvenes adultos normalmente viven la vida. Estas áreas comunes se transformarán en lugares de adoración, donde los jóvenes adultos tendrán conexión con los demás y podrán movilizarse para las misiones.
