LILLI TAKES A LEAP OF FAITH

Every day Lilli faces significant barriers,

but she had no fear spreading her wings

and taking flight, and mum couldn’t be

prouder.

Gearing up to reach new heights, Lilli was

among a dozen people with intellectual

disability from Endeavour Foundation’s

Labrador Learning and Lifestyle hub, who

committed to facing their fears at iFLY on

the Gold Coast.

Among the spectators was Lilli’s mother

Anita, who said people with a disability

want the same opportunities for fun and

adventure.

“People often underestimate people with

a disability and shelter them from some

experiences because of their own fear,”

she said.

Also strapped in for the exhilarating indoor

skydiving adventure was Jodie Jones who

was on cloud nine after lift-off.

“The first time I was a bit nervous but the second time it was pretty good,” Jodie said.

“So I actually want to do that again, it’s thumbs up from me.”

This unique program is supported by Endeavour Foundation to help people with disability get out of their comfort zone and break down social barriers, while also trying activities they never thought were possible.

Site Manager Natasha Major said the program was designed to break down misconceptions about people with disability.

“Every month we take on challenging experiences, some more extreme than others,” she said.

“It’s aimed at helping participants focus on what they can do instead of what they can’t.

Every ticket purchased goes towards helping people like Lilli achieve something they never thought was possible.
