All persons with work activities related to a confined space including those who: • Perform confined space assessments and/or issue written authorities; • Design and layout the workplace; • Manage and/or are responsible for the direct control of the work in confined spaces; • Maintain equipment used for ensuring the safety of persons in the confined space; • Provide, fit, wear and maintain personal protective equipment. • Applicable legislative requirements and responsibilities. • Basic concepts of Work Health and Safety Legislation. • Identifying physical confined space hazards. • Applying basic risk management concepts. • Assessment of risk, control of risk and evaluation of control measures as they apply to confined spaces. • Applying the hierarchy of controls as they apply to confined spaces. Upon successful completion of the course participants will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.
