A en on Exhibitors Errors on Entry Blanks. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancella ons of entries a er the published closing date. Each Owner and Agent listed on the entry form and/or individual responsible for the dog at a show is bound by the Cer fica on and Agreement on the front and back of the entry form re‐gardless of who may have completed & submi ed the entry form. As Specified in Chapter 12, Sec on 4 of the AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, informa on con‐tained on the entry form is required to be published in the club’s show catalog. This informa on is also subject to publica on in other media. All Dogs Present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising ring. Class Cash Prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging of that breed is over, and the Superintendent ad‐vised at once. The Superintendent and show‐giving Club disclaim any liability for cash prizes a er the judging of the breed is over.

Winners of these Classes are eligible to compete in Best of Variety if undefeated in any other class  

Veteran Classes. Open to dogs and bitches 7 years and older; neutered dogs and spayed bitches are allowed to compete in Compe ve Veterans Classes at independent special es.

Veteran classes divided as follows: 7‐under 9 years; 9‐under 11 years; 11 years and older

(Na onal Specialty Only) Field Trial. Open to dogs or bitches that have placed in an AKC sanc oned or licensed field trial. Dual Champion. Open to dogs and bitches that have earned both an AKC Show Championship as well as an AKC Field Trial Championship. Per AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, Chapter 11, Sec on 8, Field and Dual Champions may not be shown if neutered or spayed.

Non‐Regular Classes (Addi onal) Involving Mul ple Dog Entries   (Na onal Specialty Only)   

In accordance with AKC rule Chapter 11, Sec on 8, a neutered dog may be entered as the Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as the Brood Bitch in a Brood Bitch class. As the judge's decision in the Non‐Regular Classes involving Mul ple Dog Entries is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes.                                                     Stud Dog Class.  (Na onal Only) For stud dogs and at least two and no more than four of their get. Stud dog must be entered in the appropriate Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with its get. Owner of stud dog need not necessarily be owner of get. Get only to be judged, based upon their merits. While the merits of the stud dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the stud dog must be examined to determine if it has a condi on that would require its dis‐qualifica on or excusal under Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Get must be entered in a Regular Class, Best of Variety Compe on, or some other Non‐Regular Class. Brood Bitch Class.  (Na onal Only) Same as Stud Dog except subs tute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. Brace Class. (Na onal Only) Brace Class shall be for two dogs of the same variety and at least one common owner. Dogs do NOT have to be entered in another class at this show. The entry forms must be marked accordingly in the space for Classes as Brace. If more than one Brace is entered by one or more common owner, the dogs comprising EACH Brace must be designated “Brace No 1, Brace No 2,” etc. Dogs comprising each brace must be named at me of entry.

  

SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES (NATIONAL SPECIALTY ONLY) Sweepstakes Eligibility: Any purebred dachshund, individually registered with AKC, 6 months and under 18 months of age and entered in a regular class at this show.

Classes for dogs and for bitches, divided by coat variety Puppy, 6‐9 months Puppy, 9‐12 months Junior, 12‐18 months

Best of Variety and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Variety (open to first place winner in each class) to be judged separately in each variety. Best in Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Sweepstakes will be chosen from the Sweepstakes Variety and Best of Opposite Sex in Variety winners.

PARADE OF VETERANS  (NATIONAL SPECIALTY ONLY ) This non‐compe ve parade is open to any dachshund that is 7 years of age or older and not en‐tered in any other class at the show.  Please submit a short history (150 words or fewer) of your veteran with your entry form.  This history, if within the correct number of words, will be included in the catalog and read during the parade.  Histories longer than 150 words will not be in the catalog.

CODC Specialty Classes: Novice • Open • Master 

  

Novice Class ‐ shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competi‐tion present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notify‐ing the Superintendent or Show Secretary at least one‐half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show. Open Class ‐ shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Master Class ‐  for boys & girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year.

NOTICE:  Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Depart‐ment (919) 233‐9767. Hotel Dog Show Guidelines: • Maximum four (4) dogs per room. ALL DOGS PRESENT MUST HAVE CURRENT VAC‐

CINATIONS AND OWNERS MUST PRESENT VALIDATION OF RABIES VACCINATIONS, IF NECESSARY.

• The guest will be charged a one‐ me non‐refundable pet fee of $75.00 per room. This fee applies to all guests with dogs.

• Dogs le una ended in guest rooms must be crated at all mes. Plas c shee ng must be placed under each crate, at the responsibility of the owner.

• Housekeeping must be allowed DAILY access to clean each guestroom. • Owners/Exhibitors should bring their own towels for bathing dogs. A daily inventory

of missing or damaged towels will be taken. Any necessary charges will be applied to the guest’s bill.

• Individual guests will be responsible for damage to a guestroom or any hotel proper‐ty. This includes, but not limited to, replacement cost for carpe ng if odors or stain cannot be removed with tradi onal cleaning methods.

• Dogs are to be leashed at all mes when out of the guestroom. IT IS YOUR RESPON‐SIBILITY TO CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOGS! 

• Dogs will not be allowed in the following public areas: restaurants, lounge, public func ons space and the public hallways to the areas listed. Excep ons will be made when func ons call for the dogs to be in these areas.

• Extension cords are not allowed to be plugged into rooms from a vehicle, trailer or camper in the parking lot.

• If the hotel receives excessive barking complaints from a guestroom, guests will be asked to check‐out immediately.

RV Parking

Twenty‐five (25) spaces will be available at the DoubleTree Columbus‐Worthington on a first‐come, first‐served basis for a fee of $425.00 for the week. Spaces will be availa‐ble beginning at noon on Sunday, April 29, 2018, through noon on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Electric hookups (30‐amp service) will be provided. Reserved Grooming & Day Crating

Reserved grooming spaces are available for $75 per space and includes electricity. Spaces are approximately 6’ x 8’ each and will be assigned on a first‐come, first‐served basis. Space is  limited, so please request only what you need. Reserva ons must be made on the All‐In‐One‐Form. Reserved grooming will be available from 2 p.m. on Monday, April 30, through Saturday, May 5. Reserved grooming must be vacated by noon on Sunday, May 6. Dogs may be le in reserved grooming rooms overnight at the discre on and responsibility of the owner or agent. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTER‐NATIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS.

  

A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). A $3.50 AKC Recording Fee will be required for the first entry in Rally and $3.00 for each additional entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 5). A $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in 4‐6 Month Beginner Puppy. These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club.

  

RETURNED CHECKS / INVALID CREDIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry. The Superintendent will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check and credit card. Subsequent returned checks and credit card from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a cash‐only basis. Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.

  

No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturb‐ances, fire, extreme and or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent.  

  

No Refund for Duplicate Entries.  Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made.

Refunds made for cancellation of entries before the closing date will be subject to a $3.00 administrative/processing fee per entry. 

  

No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its ac‐ceptance. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable.

Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor the Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up the class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. 

  

Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations. 

  

The show giving club, the Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc., assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers to any of their dogs or property, and further

AGREEMENT I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. INSTRUCTIONS 1. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varie es for show purposes, please designate the par c‐ular variety you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, par ‐color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in., over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard).

2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed compe on: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owners’ records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed compe on is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.

3. (Event Class) Consult the classifica on in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addi on to designa ng the class, specify the par cular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division.

4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the me entries for an event closed.
