ENERGY SAVING DEMONSTRATION

This practical demonstration was the first test done with the aim of demonstrating the advantage of Ortronic® technology applied to electric motors. The demonstration was carried out by the Spanish state-owned company:

• Minas de Almadén y Arrayanes, S.A.

• Proposed by the Commercial Director Mr. Angel Arredondo, Dr. Eng. In Electricity, assisted by Mr. Julio Bordas, the company‘s Corporate Director.

ENERGY SAVING DEMONSTRATION

The demonstration was to compare the energy savings of the Ortronic® converter with a PWM inverter, as a reference technology used nowadays in electric vehicles.

The reference was a inverter of the prestigious brand Merlin Gerin, with an 88% of efficiency.

The energy used was contained in a electric battery bank.

The demonstration was to pump water by using only the energy contained in the electrical battery bank, demonstrating that Ortronic ® technology multiplies the kilowatt hours of energy.

In the demo‘s first part, the reference inverter was connected to the batteries and to the water transfer system, and left running until the batteries ran out, regularly measuring the amount of water transferred. 

In the second part, the reference inverter was disconnected, the batteries were recharged to the same level and the Ortronic® converter was connected, also left running until the batteries ran out, and regularly measuring the amount of water transferred.
