The Challenge

56,387

Last year, there were 56,387 students enrolled at Ohio State.

That’s 56,387 students

being bombarded with spiritual and moral options, and facing challenging decisions about their life,

future, worldview, and spiritual beliefs

...all in an environment

that assumes that God is irrelevant*.

*72.9 percent of professors at elite doctoral universities (such as Ohio State) con-sider the Bible to be an “ancient book of fables”

20% of the high school students who grow

up in churches will still be actively involved

in the Christian faith at the age of 30. 20%

The function of education is

to teach one to think

intensively and to think

critically.

- Martin Luther King Jr.

The aim of education should

be to teach us rather how

to think, than what to think

- John Dewey.

Through InterVarsity, students…

• Hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ

• Learn to walk as disciples of Jesus in thoughtful

Bible studies and intensive prayer

• Gain experience in a wide variety of leadership

roles

• Participate in vibrant, multiethnic fellowships

♦ Become active in God’s global mission

Community

Faith in Ac"on “Inductive Bible study has

made me look deeper into

Scripture… I have such a

better understanding of

God and His Word.”

- Aerin, student

InterVarsity provides safe

space for all students to

explore and grow in their

faith

“Through missions with

InterVarsity, God has revealed his

hugeness to me. How he is the

God of all and will heal all of my

brokenness, along with the pain

of the world.”

- Megan, student

InterVarsity engages campus in

creative, thought-provoking, and

inviting ways about the wide-

reaching implications of the

Gospel.

Our Response

Page 7: Erik Bobbitt - Ministry Plan

“Before this year I had never

shared my faith… now I love

evangelism because the more I

share about the Good News of

Jesus , the more I’m changed

by it myself.”

- Cailin, student

Evangelism is the lifeblood of

InterVarsity - not only is it the means

by which we reach campus, but it

provides a dynamic discipleship

experience

InterVarsity equips leaders with

professional leadership training so

that they will be prepared to lead

with vision, wisdom, and impact

on campus and beyond.

“I moved from being a naïve

and rather narrow Christian to

one concerned about God’s

greater purposes in the world.”

Gary Haugen,

Founder and President of the

International Justice Mission.

“[My roommate] would take

me there. I felt immediately

touched by being in that

space… That was the

beginning of my search for and

eventual finding of Christ.”

Santa Ono ,

President of University of

Cincinnati.
