eSports: Behind the next billion-dollar industryCompetitive gaming is a big deal, generating millions upon millions of views and beginning to even outpace the rest of the games industry. ~ Matthew Jarvis of MCV

If you had asked someone five years ago whether they watch eSports, they would probably have looked at you quizzically or even laughed. Jump forwards to 2014 and eSports is no longer a novelty – it’s serious business.

SuperData estimates total eSports viewership to have surpassed 70 million in 2013; that’s more than the population of the UK.

Prize money has also rocketed, hitting $25 million in 2013. Dota 2 competition The International 3 alone offered a record-breaking $2.87m – an impressive number smashed this year by The International 4’s $10.9m prize pool.

And these statistics are only set to rise further, as investment in events and sponsorship of teams continue to professionalise the sector.

eSports: Online RacingOnline racing is on the verge of becoming a massive marketing platform with it’s ability to live stream races to hosting sites like Youtube and Twitch. The ability to run custom liveries on the cars provides a constant rolling billboard much like real racing. While the viewers are watching for their PC’s or laptops it’s the perfect placement for widgets embedded into the broadcast to lead people to landing pages, websites and social media outlets.

Our Goal: Create massive marketing campaign with online racing

With the ability to run paid ads on social networking sites like Facebook, we now have the ability to promote our online racing to hundreds of thousands of people each week. The proper use of online marketing tools like landing pages makes a unique platform to provide sales leads, offer promo codes and product sales promotions directly into the hands of people who are already online.

Crowdsourced Marketing:Crowdsourced Marketing is a concept I designed for our online eSports racing. This is designed to funnel small amounts of sponsorship funding into a large marketing campaign pool to maximize the ROI for all affiliated companies. The next slide will offer number from mock ads I ran on Facebook.

Daily Average for General ad for Series is between 12,000-32,000 per day.If we hit an average of 15,000 people a dayThat hits 105,000 people per week. Season Potential is 3,990,000 reach of Facebook.

Targeted ad for individual campaign will hit 1200-2200 per day.If we hit an average of 1500 people per dayThat hits 10,500 people per week.Season potential is 399,000 for a custom targeted campaign

Cost of Sponsorship and additional options

Sponsorship for one car/driver is $200 per race.We’ll be running the full NASCAR Schedule at 38 races.
