1. The nervous system. The locomotor system. The cardiorespiratory system. 2. The nervous system sends themovement order from the brain to themuscles. 3. The main structures of the nervoussystem that play an important rol in themovement are these three:The brain. The spinal cord. The nerves. 4. The brain is like a computer thatanalyses the things that happenaround us and decide: When should we move. How should we move. 5. The brain sends theorder of movementthrough the spinal cord. The spinal cord is along tube of nervoustissue that conects thebrain with the rest of thebody. 6. The nerves are small structures thatconect the spinal cord with themuscles. That way the order ofmovement sent by the brain can getthe muscles. 7. The locomotor system is the systemthat provoques the movement. 8. The locomotos system can by dividedinto two parts:Skeleton.Muscles. 9. The skeleton is astructure made up ofbones and joints. This isthe passive part of themovement 10. Bones are hard andrigid structures wherethe muscles are fixed. The most importantbones in our body arethose taht you cansee in the picture. 11. Joints are structureswhere two o morebones are together. You can see in thepicture the mostimportant joints involvein movements. 12. Muscles are the mostimportant structuresin terms of movementbecause they areable to contract. Inthe picture you cansee the mostimportant muscles ofour body. 13. When muscles contract, the pull thebones where they are fixed. That isthe way the movement is produced. 14. This system provides theenergy that the musclesneed to contract. Thisenergy is called ATP. 15. This system is the result of theinteraction between two systems:Cardiac system.Respiratory system. 16. The respiratorysystem is soimportant because itgives us the oxygenthat our musclesneed to get theenergy to contractand helps us toeliminate the carbondioxide which is badfor our body. 17. The most important organin the respiratory systemare the lungs because it isthere where the oxygengets into the blood and theblood delivers there thecarbon dioxide. 18. This system isimportantbecause it sendsthe oxygen to themuscles. To sendthis oxygen themost importantstructure is theheart. 19. The heart is a special muscle thatsends the xygen to the musclesthrough the blood. 20. The blood travels from the heart to themuscles through the arteries andcapillaries and comes back to the heartthrough the capillaries and veins. When the blood goes from the heart to themuscles it has oxygen and nutrients andwhen it comes back to the heart from themuscles it has carbon dioxide and rubish. 21. NERVOUS SYSTEM:SENDS THE ORDER OFMOVEMENT. 22. LOCOMOTOR SYSTEM:PRODUCES THEMOVEMENT. 23. CARDIORESPIRATORY SYSTEM:GIVES THE ENERGYFOR THE MOVEMENT(ATP). 24. Here you have some videos that areusefull for you to understand this unit. These videos have much more informationthan you need for the exam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-wsFt2UmoM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPFHH2U5F2A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsdnDXF0qes 25. Consejo para el examen: No aprender de memoria las diapositivas (solo lasde msculos, huesos y articulaciones). Leerlas, entenderlas y si tenis alguna duda mandarme unemail y os las resolver.
