Lads to Leaders in MemphisAlso I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and

who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Isaiah 6:7-9

This weekend a number of our kids, their parents, and others who have been working hard for months will be

heading to Memphis to represent the Estes congregation at the annual Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes convention. They have been studying scripture, practic-ing puppets shows, planning speeches, preparing for debate rebuttals, leading singing, creating scrapbooks and art projects, and working on a number of other skills. These skills are training them to have the confidence and zeal to serve the Lord’s church well into the 21st century. The organization, celebrating its 45th year, carries the motto “Building Godly Leaders for Tomorrow.” L2L holds conventions in various cities to show-case the work that young people in churches have been doing and to allow them to compete in the areas in which they have been training. This year’s convention theme is “Here am I, Send Me.” Thanks to all of our coaches and mentors who have worked with our puppet teams, Bible Bowl teams, debate team, our speeches and song lead-ing, our oral Bible reading skills, and our art skills. Thanks to Brent and Melinda Rudder, our fearless leaders. Keep the group in your prayers this weekend!
