ESTONIA IS THE BEST KEPT SECRET

OF SCANDINAVIA

Our country boasts the 3000-year-old crater of an iron meteorite that influenced the religions and customs of the Baltic Sea region. We have one of the most authentic Medieval Old Towns. The Kunda and Pärnu settlements are older than most cradles of the European civilisation. Our language contains about a thousand words that date back to the last ice age. Our capital has one of the most seamless wireless Internet networks in the world. And about 90% of our population pay their taxes via Internet.

Estonia is a small country with a rich inner life. As a young state that has for long remained in the shadow, the introduction of our inner riches to the whole world is essential in regard to the preservation of Estonia’s uniqueness and the growth of its people.

PÄRNU SEASIDE RESORT TOWN

Seaside resort town Pärnu is an ideal destination for beach and wellness holidays. It’s long white sanded beaches, sunny days and vibrant nightlife have earned Pärnu a title of Estonian Summer Capital.

The rich history of Pärnu and the joyful daily life offer something for everyone. The centre of Pärnu, the lovely parks and the resort area with its famous sandy beach and promenade invite you for long walks. Pärnu charms its guests with its historical architecture. Walking or biking along the avenues from the centre of the city to the sea, you will pass through the largest district of timber villas in Estonia. The unique villas decorated with timber lace please the eye and are a joy to discover, as most of them have been restored and house a hotel or a café. Welcome to Pärnu in West-Estonia!

HOW TO GET HERE?

Finding your way to Pärnu is easy! The easiest way to get here is to take an international flight to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, or to Riga, the capital of Latvia. It only takes a couple of hours of driving to get to Pärnu from either of the airports, as it is situated on the fast Via Baltica highway (E67). Comfortable Lux Express Buses (http://www.luxexpress.eu/en/timetable) regularly depart from Tallinn and Riga to Pärnu. Estonia’s biggest port is located in Tallinn; ships from Helsinki arrive there almost every hour.

Just two kilometers from the city of Pärnu is Tahkuranna, home of the Pärnu Bay Golf Links. Tahkuranna takes its Estonian name from its sandstone substrate, serving the basis for its stunning natural beauty where pine trees meet Pärnu Bay sea. The newest golf course and first links course in the region is the true sense of the word: a coastal stretch of land with sandy soil and fescue grasses. The course is designed by architect Lassi Pekka Tilander and shaped by Mick McShane, who is best known as the lead shaper for legendary St. Andrews Links’ Castle Course and Kingsbarns Golf Links.

The course features wide fairways and expansive sand areas, as well as multi-leveled greens with bold movement. The par-72 course plays from 4,500 to 6,200 meters. Pärnu Bay Golf Links also features a par-three course of five holes, driving range, putting greens and fully equipped pro shop and an excellent restaurant EAGLE at the clubhouse, atop the highest point of the course. The glass-walled restaurant and panoramic terrace offer a breathtaking 360-degree view to the nature outside making a lunch or a dinner there into unforgettable experience. Welcome to Pärnu!
