Spring is springing and none to soon for my blood. I am ready for the warm rays of the North
Texas spring sunshine. I am not a fan of cold weather. So bring on the sun…and at the same
time bring on some soaking spring rains. Our beautiful Lake Texoma desperately needs the rain.
In spite of the cold winter, we have had an amazing few months around Georgetown Baptist
Church. First, and foremost, we have called (hired) a Preschool/Children’s Minister to help give
leadership and direction to our ministry to families with kids. This is a full time position and, as
far as I can tell, the first time GBC has had a full-time person over the Children’s ministry. I,
along with our leadership teams, believe this is a critical and pivotal position for reaching the
unsaved and unchurched in our community. Tria Heaton is our new Preschool/Children’s
Minister. She comes with a passion and love for kids and their families and a wealth of experience in Children’s ministry. Make sure to meet Tria and her husband, Don and their four beautiful
daughters.
Another thing that I am celebrating is the phenomenal response to our “Loving the Orphans”
Shoe Drive through the month of February. Buckner International is a ministry in Dallas that
works with orphanages all around the world. Part of their ministry is the Shoes For Orphan Souls
that provides new shoes for orphans. This is their 15th anniversary and they will deliver their 3
millionth pair of shoes this year. GBC partnered with them to collect shoes. We set a goal to
collect 125 pair of shoes. When the shoes you donated were all counted our church had collected
167 pair of shoes. Thank you for your faithfulness to meet a need in the name of Jesus Christ.
The third thing I will highlight is that our annual Mexico mission trip scheduled for July 26 –
August 2 has already filled up. We can only accommodate 20 people and we already have those
20 slots filled with a waiting list in case someone drops out. The Latvia mission trip is scheduled
for June 18-29 and still has some spots open. How exciting to see people involved in missions to
share the love and message of Jesus Christ.
Sunday Bible study classrooms are filling up, parking spots are getting harder to come by and
worship seating is filling up each week. I believe that we are seeing the fruit of our connecting
with our community over the past five years. Now people, especially young families, are coming
to check out what we do on Sundays in studying the Word and worshipping our great God.
These are exciting days for Georgetown Baptist Church. I am humbly grateful to have the privilege of being pastor of this great church…a church that genuinely has a passion for God and a
passion for people. We are not perfect, but we will continue to strive to be a light on the hill for
those who are hurting and need Jesus.
God bless you as you seek to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
By His grace,

Thank You!
To our friends at Georgetown Church:
There is no possible way to personally thank each
and every one of you for your outpouring of love
for Cindy and words could never express how
much we appreciate the kindness shown to her and
our family during her illness. Your unending
prayers and expressions of concern were not only a
wonderful blessing to Cindy, but a source for our
entire family. Mere words could never express how
truly grateful we are. May God bless you all!
Aaron, Adam & Taylor Looney
Our church is so sweet... Bro. Bobby and
the girls from the Bible class just removed
those ole leaves that I have worried about
all winter. Thank you for the wonderful
job you did.
And.... Then Pat Spoede, Pat Dumitru and
Janie Allen, along with all the women and
men made John and Lorene Pearson’s day
at the Valentine’s party. Thanks so much.
We feel so, so loved.
King & Queen—John & Lorene Pearson
John Pearson made it OK. Thanks
Georgetown for all the calls and prayers
during John’s surgery. We were so
afraid at his age 89 to have this done.
On January 6 at 6 pm it was 13 degrees.
Jim & Brenda—you will never know
what your concern and prayers and
presence meant to Bob, Allen, Lorene &
John. He checks the answering machine
all through the day to see whose calling
him. We couldn’t make these bad
times without the cards and our church
friends.
Love, John, Lorene & Children Thank you so much for the beautiful ivy.
More than anything, thank you for your
prayers and kind words. You will never
know how much that meant.
Love and God Bless.
Jim, Cindy & Tyler Bunch
Dear Georgetown Baptist Church,
Thank you so much for hosting a Buckner
Shoes for Orphan Soul drive! The shoes
and socks you collected are currently being
processed by
volunteers and will soon be shipped and
delivered to orphans and vulnerable chil-
dren around the world. New shoes and
socks bring good health, access to educa-
tion and hope in Jesus Christ. Thank you
for this meaningful gift!
Sincerely,
Sara Beth Tunnell & The Buckner Shoes

especially tasty & good! Thanks also to
the ones who make the deliveries.
Thanks so very much! Your love blooms
like a beautiful flower.
