‘Reducing energy demand will lead to regeneration of urban areas’ ThisActionClustersupportsthePositive Energy Blocks (PEB)Initiative.APEBisagroupofatleastthreeconnectedneighbouringbuildingswhichannuallyproducesmoreenergythanitconsumesintermsoflighting,heating,coolingandventilation.TheInitiativeaimsatsupportingthelaunchof100ofthesehighlyinnovativePEBthroughoutEuropeby2020.Positiveenergyisreachedbybuilding informationmodelling(BIM)forretrofitting,constructionandmanagement;usingadvanced materials,andlocalproductionandstorageofrenewables.PEBisaflexibleconceptcontributingtourban regenerationbyestablishingsocial and functional mixes betweencommercial,officeandresidentialspaces, -to take advantage of their complementary energy consumption curves.

Small Giantsisanetworkofproactivesmallandmedium-sizedEuropeancitieswithfewerthan150,000inhabitants.ThisInitiativeaimstoenableeconomiesofscale,harnessingthecollectiveprocurementandproject-buildingpowerofthesecitiesandfacilitatingcollectiveaccesstosolutionprovidersinordertoroll-outandscale-upinnovativeandexistingsmartcitysolutions.Additionally,theActionClusterlooksintocircular economy, waste management,waterandurban greening astheseareessentialissuestodevelopsustainablecities.

We are focusing on electromobility infrastructures andsolutions in the field of new mobility services.TheEV4SCCinitiativebringstogethercitiesandregionswithcompaniestocreateadynamicEuropean Marketplace for smart electromobilityandacollaborativeinnovationplatform.Attheendof2016,thecollaborativeplatformcomprised74partnersfrom19countriesincluding19citiesandregions.Ourecosystemofpublicandprivatestakeholderswillfacilitateopeninnovation,informationsharingandcollaborativeproblemsolving.
Therearecurrently4 working groupsthatwereformedduringtheEIP-SCC2016GeneralAssembly:e-freight, e-fleet, e-bus, e-Planning and smart charging.
